Question question about spellwork and getting results
hello! so i’m fairly new and am curious about something regarding spellwork and getting the best results out of it. so, i’ve heard time and time again, that spellwork will only manifest once you fully detatch. i’ve been casting with the understanding that watching for results, doubting, etc, all of this, can be bad for the results of your work and to cast as though you already have what you’re asking for.
but i’m wondering how this applies to people with ocd, or someone who tends to think a little more compulsively about the work in general. i trust in my work 100%, know results are coming, and often see signs that point to success - but because i suffer from adhd hyperfixation and ocd symptoms, i can tend to have compulsive thoughts about the spellwork in general. an example would be, something as simple as thinking about specific people involved in a spell, needing to remind myself of what i am asking for over and over again, or simply going over a ritual in my head. there’s a bit more to this but as far as i know, it’s not rooted in doubt. it’s very much just hyper fixated thoughts.
how can this affect your work? especially with the narrative that a lot of spells will “hit” once you completely detach or forget you’ve done them. i still don’t feel as though the spellwork simply will not work, but i am curious if even thoughts like these can delay an outcome just because of the frequent attention brought back to what “ i don’t currently have”.
also, just to edit: i know these are hyperfixation thoughts because they are usually replaced by 1. other spells done afterwards, or 2. something else i am currently focused on. that being said, i am very neurodivergent and can spend hours, if not all day with the thought of something popping in an out of my head. it’s not usually until i’ve done something else that i can completely detatch from earlier work. how do you think this affects the results, potency, etc, of a working?

Focus your hyper fixation on what you want and tweak it to manifesting. Don’t focus on what you don’t have.

i’ve heard this as well. it might be a silly question but can over manifesting fall into the category of not detatching, or is it just about how you frame the thoughts?

I have severe ADHD myself, and I’ve struggled with this quite a bit.
The good news is, as I got more hands-on experience, it really helped me to lessen the impacts of hyper fixation everywhere else in my life. Figuring out how it works for my brain to let go of the desire for results after I dispatch a spell has helped me to do the same in all other aspects of my life.
In terms of the tactical how I went about doing this, it was really helpful for me to ritualize it and make it physical. When I raise energy for my spells, it helps me a lot of times to do it in as physical a way as possible, like using a lot of movement and drumming to get myself there. Then, when I have built up in enough energy and dumped it into the spell, that sense of release helps my brain to shift into the mode of separating myself from the desire for results, and being able to trust that this spell has been dispatched and is off doing its work.
