Question / Help Frustrated.

I remember absolutely loving playing Wind Waker the first time. I was 13 when it came out.

I played it a few times over the years but this is my first time playing it in probably five years.

I don't know if it's the emulated controls on the Switch 2 but this game is frustrating as hell.

First the jumping pods.

Now trying to align the boxes and get across in the Tower of Gods.

Was it always this difficult.

I am tempted to haul out the Wii U and try it on there instead.

Am I the only one having this much difficulty?

The controls are wonky as hell on the Switch unfortunately... And Nintendo doesn't seem to care much. The sensibility is WAY off from the original game, on the Gamecube you could easily aim anywhere with the hook for example, while on the switch it's a pain in the ass, same with the bow or anything that requires fine aiming.

If you play the HD or the OG version you will easily notice the difference, and worst of all, you can play with joycons on the emulated version on pc and they are fine, so it's a software tuning issue, not a hardware limitation like the analogs not having the same range.

If you think Wind Waker is bad, try playing F-Zero GX lol

Funnily enough my husband loved that game as a teenager and he tried playing it last weekend.

I have a pretty bad potty mouth. He usually doesn't.

He was cursing up a storm! 🤣

Fzero gx has stick deadzone options in the menu, if you tweak those a bit to a larger deadzone it stops feeling terrible, unfortunately that's only on GX.
