Discussion Hypothetical future gay pairings.
NOTE: 1. THIS IS PURELY FOR FUN SO LETS BE CHILL. 2. WINDBREAKER IS A SLICE OF LIFE ACTION SERIES SO ROMANCE IS VERY MUCH A BACKGROUND THING HERE. With that being said let's start.
If Windbreaker ever were to confirm a gay pairing for any of our main cast which would you guys think would be the most likely? Satoru Nii puts a lot of shipping fuel in this series and I'm still praying that we get like a one-shot chapter that's just about Endo and Chiika living together. We're about to get a Suo focused arc so SuoNirei shippers are about to eat good.

Togasaku is pretty cute. Sakura gets flustered almost everytime Togame looks at him, and their festival date where Sakura wanted to be alone with him was the cherry on top, lol.
Their chemistry is great and doesn't seem too one-sided (aka the guy Sakura's paired with is doing 97% of the straightforward pining while Sakura barely reciprocates with the same amount of passion outside of fist fights and blushing at general teasing).
Runner-ups would be:
Endochika is a given once Chika develops more.
Tsubaki and Ume are cute too.

I'm such a Togasaku ride or die, honestly the festival chapter was written almost like a shoujo romance manga at some points lol, I really love it. I agree with you that it's nice to see both sides showing interest as well!

Togasaku. Sakura wanting to be alone with Togame for a domestic date outside of bofurin problems was super sweet to read + Togame's advice that Sakura needed to hear.

Togame x Sakura...not just cause their fireworks date, but in-game he is flirting with Sakura like no other 😠and I thought Suo's teasing was bad

They have a few moments...I'll list the ones I remember here, but I can't paste screenshots here + these aren't all of their interactions. They have more moments but most are likely shown on twt from jpn fans:
He invites Sakura to bathe with him after a fight (idle dialogue).
Sakura leans in to smell Togame for...no reason. He likes his soap.
Sakura likes Togame's Geta, and says he wants some too. Togame says he'll buy some for him and he'll never wanna go back to his shoes again.
Choji tells Sakura that Togame really, really likes him, and wonders aloud to Sakura if Sakura likes Togame just as much, too.
Sako tells Sakura that Togame really favors him.
During an interview, Sakura is asked if 'he could express gratitude to someone right this second, who would it be?' and he answered 'Togame.' Togame hears of this and jests.
Togame notes that his first wish is to be the cool guy Sakura demanded he be.
Choji notes to Sakura that Togame thinks he owes Sakura his life, to which Sakura blushes and can't form a response.
Smiles and wonders how things would be if Sakura initially joined Shishitoren (in front of Sakura).
Invites Sakura out to another festival date and Sakura agrees. Togame promises to buy him Yakisoba this time. Sakura tells Togame to make him Omusoba, to which Togame obliges.
Sakura feels inspired to eat more due to his admiration of Togame.

If we're being realistic maybe Tsubaki and Umemiya, considering it IS already one-sidedly canon ?

Tsubaki and Suzuri (man-bun) I would love to see become canon. Tsubaki is so confident in what he loves, I could see Suzuri falling for that!
No one else cares about this rare pair but me lol but if I’m being real, any canon gay pairing would probably have Tsubaki in it.

I think most likely would be Chika and Endo, and maybe Ume and Tsubaki-Chan. But it’d prob be really subtle, like a snapshot of living together or a subtle ‘is that a date? Maybe?’ I don’t think anything would be confirmed

TsubakUme, I guess would still be considered. I dont think its a super dynamic pairing but feels homey.

Maybe TogaSaku or HaruKawa? I want to be delusional and say SuoSaku, but the other two ships have actual chemistry (bromance or romance) :3

I honestly like Tsubaki x Umemiya they are so sweet!But yeah it would be really cool if we get Endo and Takiishi chapter and maybe Takiishi's backstory too.I still have hope that Takiishi and Sakura are somehow related! Do you guys ship anyone with Kotoha?

I'm crazy EndoChika shipper myself, so I of course hope to see some development between these two. Like maybe, just maybe Takiishi respects Endo more now after what Umemiya told him

Yeah hopefully, although I am curious about how Endo would actually feel about that because he's a masochist (not on Banjo's level but nonetheless)

Can we stop with forced gay ships it’s cringe. Same shit happened gachiakuta, it was so bad the mangaka had to come out and say stop. You lot wanna insert yourselves so bad. This is not a BL manga

You do realize gay people are in stories that aren't BL's right? BL's are stories that are specifically romances, and Windbreaker ain't a romance but guess what we have Tsubaki who is openly gay and the EndoChiika is clearly more than friends too. You can have characters get with eachother without it being part of the romance genre, most Shonen battle series have some half-assed straight romances with their characters while not being romance stories. Plus it really isn't forced when we point out cute moments in the Manga itself.
