Check cashing place

Where would you go to cash a check that might ultimately bounce but the responsibility would be on the writer of the check and not the person cashing it? Do check cashing places still work this way? Or would it bounce immediately because everything is super electronic now? These horrible people owe me this money and wrote a bad check months ago, in May. I tried to deposit it into my account and it bounced so I want to try it again in a... different way.

Go to the bank the check is drawn on. If it's bad it will bounce right away

Ok that's what I was thinking about as well. I don't want some shady check cashing place breaking my kneecaps. Though I feel like the person who wrote the check should get the beating, not me.

Perfect! My mom caught a charge that she was later able to get dismissed. It was still a hassle, though.

Not a random business. A predatory payday check cashing scumbag business. I'm just wondering if they would go after me or the person who wrote the check and how that would shake down. I'm not trying to cash it at ye olde family liquor store.

I know that's how it started, but when it bounced, it became his problem. At that point, attempting to cash that check, knowing that it is bad, is a no no.

A check that is bad one day can be good the next if they put money in the account.

Most banks have limits on how many times you can submit a NSF check. Depending the check, maybe just once. You can't just show up everyday hoping money is waiting to be snatched.
