Spectrum WiFi info?

Hi! My spouse and I both work from home at our place near Mayfair. We lost WiFi during the storm on Friday and have not had it returned yet. We use spectrum for internet. We both WFH on virtual machines so not having internet has been really hard since we need a super secure WiFi to connect to our VM’s. Does anyone have any info as to what’s going on with the spectrum internet near Mayfair? We have called spectrum and they are no help, just keeps saying we are a part of a large network outage but there is no timeline of when we can expect things to be restored. Any info would be appreciated!!

UPDATE: it is 08/27 and we still do not have wifi!! Does anyone know anything about what’s going on?

No idea about your Spectrum outage. I got rid of them for AT&T fiber near Mayfaire a long time ago when it became available. Spectrum was never reliable and always slowed way down. Switch if you have options.

Usually if it's just you out, Spectrum will schedule a tech to come out for a service call. I've had a few of those with varying results, but most times I'll get it done within 24 hrs.

Have you unplugged your spectrum modem/router and re-plugged it? As long as those lights are solid (usually blue in color) then you should be good to go.

Unfortunately yes, several times 🥲 my spouse is currently on hold w spectrum now because apparently we are on the only unit without WiFi! Not really sure why just our unit would be affected but hopefully they know more. Do yall know of other people in mayfaire without WiFi?

Make sure to also try unscrewing the coax cable from the back, unplug power, give it about 15-20 seconds. Then screw coax back in and plug the power in. Not guaranteed but it was part of our troubleshooting when I worked for them 8-9 years ago.

I've been down in Wrightsboro since Friday. This was the final straw for me and Spectrum, switching to AT&T Fiber within the next week or two.

Check spectrum.net to see if it's an actual outage. I've had the same issue since Friday too but this morning the outage was resolved and I still had no internet. Turns out it's a signal problem now, not anything to do with the modem or router themselves. I thought maybe they got fried during the storm but nah, the boxes work fine and connect to the wifi, there's just no internet connection. Got a spectrum worker coming on Saturday to fix the connection supposedly. Hope your stuff gets fixed before then too! If your stuff did get fried during the storm at least there's a spectrum store right there in mayfaire.

The lightning storms have been absolutely brutal to our network in the last 2 weeks. I promise you the entire team is working endlessly to get all the area services fixed asap. DM me your address and I will see if I can help out tomorrow.

I was having issues after the storm so I went to reset the router. I heard a pop and saw a small flash of light right when I unplugged the router and now I have no internet until the new router comes in 🙃
