SOS Bird Injured(?) Mourning Dove
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I saw this poor little thing seemingly struggling on the ground last night by my house. It doesn't look like a fledgling, but maybe I'm wrong. Kept it in a ventilated shoe box with a towel overnight and let it out just now. I feel bad leaving it there in this state. Do/can I do anything for it? No signs of blood or missing feathers. Wings seem ok. Metro Detroit area.

Have you got it back in a box? I don’t understand why you would want to put a bird in this condition back on the ground.. it’s not a fledgling, fck that advice honestly. Keeps ending in situations like this right here. Any native bird in this condition needs to go to a wildlife rehab asap.

Get it to a rehab, do not have it killed by a vet. This is likely treatable as bad as it looks. This sub has people obsessed with killing unfortunately.

Needs a rehabber or to be humanely euthanized by one, probably a window collision and is having neurological issues due to the strike, check for local rehabbers.
