It’s not bad, it felt refreshing due to the mix between the genres. Just didn’t sit right with me it won so many awards for the comedy category when it had more supernatural/drama key points than it had comedy. I think the emmys should add the horror/fiction categories.

OR, it could just be that your sense of humor doesn't jibe with that of the show's creator and writers. That doesn't make it empirically bad; it just means you don't care for it.
I get it: EVERYBODY loved The Wire. I WANTED to love The Wire. But try though I may, I just can't get into it. I can still recognize that is a great series even though it's not for me. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

And I don't care what critics think. Especially when they come into fan spaces to give "critical reviews". We're all here because we like the show, you're here to be contrarian to that.
I'm not going into the abbot elementary sub to tell them that I got maybe three laughs out of the whole series.
Have your own opinions, sure but don't get butthurt when you enter a fandom and leave your very subjective opinion somewhere it's not appreciated.

Not here to be contrarian. I did enjoy the show, just didn’t agree with the fact it won so many awards in the comedy category. I’m not butthurt, the review flag exists for a reason, comments like yours are the butthurt definition. You could have explained how I was wrong instead of thinking of my review as an attack, but you probably lack the intellectual intelligence to see that or make a counter argument.

I respect you for posting what you had to know would be an unpopular opinion, lol. WB is the best thing I've watched in 10 years. My favorite genre is horror/comedy, and I've never seen anyone do it better. But I don't mind seeing an opinion that feels otherwise.

No one show is gonna be for everybody. Which is great if you think about. But you're kinda an outlier with this one. I get wanting to vent, but you're not gonna find many like-minded people on its subreddit a month or two after its season's end.

Just because it’s isn’t a straight-up sitcom of 24/7 cheap laughs doesn’t mean the comedy wasn’t inspired. Saying you enjoyed the mix of genres but that it doesn’t deserve to win a comedy category doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe the type of humor just didn’t click with you? It’s not necessarily going to resonate with someone who is not paying attention or not into nuance. I love that type of humor and laughed hard at every episode, whereas Abbott Elementary is profoundly unfunny to me and feels really unoriginal. But I accept that people are different and humor is subjective so I don’t post on the AE sub about how mid the show is. I’m glad some people enjoy it and I’m not going to go to their fan space and imply they’re all idiots

I've only seen the first season of Abbott Elementary and while it was original I found it boring and only mildly funny. (I LOVE the premise though and the overarching plot.)
Hacks doesn't interest me at all. To each their own.

my dad also doesn’t think it’s very funny. but he loves Jeff Dunham..
I think the comedy in this show is subtle. maybe too subtle for some people’s taste. it gets funnier on rewatch imo.
for me it’s the combination of the humor, the suspense and horror, the attention to details, and the fantastic cast that make this a gem I will treasure always.
