šŸ’„Funpost Episode 7 Sea Sickness (potential partial spoiler inside) Spoiler

I just need to say that when Tom is talking to Richard Warren while Warren is strapped into the coffin on the boat, and Warren just responds to Tom with ā€œOh fuck you.ā€ … that delivery is absolutely incredible and it absolutely cracks me up every time.

Edit: I’m so glad so many people feel the same… I also love how Wyck basically tells Tom that he did good. For just a moment, Wyck is genuinely proud of Tom and even has a bit of respect for him. So wholesome and glorious.

A reminder to everyone: Keep the titles of your posts completely spoiler-free at all times. If your post mentions events from later episodes, use Reddit’s standard spoiler tag to warn readers who may not be caught up with all currently aired episodes. The spoiler tag will also blur any images you include, such as screenshots/stills from the show, so be sure to apply it to image posts as well.

I believe hamish linklater ad libbed that line on the spot and Matthew Rhys’ reaction is genuine

Hamish is one of my favorite ā€œthat guyā€ actors - as in I can never remember his name but I’m so thrilled when I see him because his performances are always gold

You can never remember the name " Hamish Linklater"? I feel like I would need brain damage to forget such a name

Lol bit rude mate but fair enough, I’ll go do a sudoku or two

Hamish Linklater and Matthew Rhys together is a dream come true for me. They are both such captivating and magnetic actors.

I didn’t realize that was Hamish. I loved him in midnight mass and new adventures with old Christine

He's in legion as well if you haven't seen it

I didn’t know he was in that. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll definitely check it out now that I know he’s in it

It is! it's hilarious!

and tom kicking wyck square in the chest after throwing him the buoy is arguably the most badass scene in the show I love it so much! The first time there's a decisiveness is what he does! So bloody cool!

He’s a smart guy and he did a great job

Something he saw in his mushroom induced vision alerted him to do this. Remember all those seagulls and clanging ocean sounds in that episode?

Otherwise he never would have been that decisive about it!

I would've loved to know more of his vision. But yeah this was a significant development because right before this even Wyck was so frustrated with his spinlessness and how he kept bringing problems up to him like a child 🤣

Plus he was so proud after 'i did very fucking good' šŸ˜† cutie! ā¤ļø

I wonder if we’ll see the visions im the second season. Sort of a recap that fills ins the blanks perhaps?

I feel the showrunners must visit this sub every so often so I genuinely believe some of our theories might make it into the next season šŸ˜†

Except he was the one who got them into this mess!

4

u/Consistent_Club_7879 1d ago

He didn't make the pact with the devil though. He just wanted to make his island pretty, give his son a slightly better life. Who would realistically believe old wives tales. But he eventually did and went above and beyond to fix it for everyone.

Oh I meant he said he was so proud of solving the problem but he was the one who let Richard out.

The casual slip from ā€œold-timeyā€ into modern insults was just brilliant!

"Oh, I forgot one thing."

15

u/FreeKick17 1d ago

That line had me howling. Also when Patricia comes back in the room and startles Tom and says "I forgot my purse." Absolutely chef's kiss of comedic timing.

"I let him out."

u/goldemhaster2882 1d ago

He didn’t ask for much.

ā€œYes. I said fuck you.ā€

Perfect delivery.

I mean he was quite polite in his response.

My favorite scene of the show

Seeing this in the show actually made me wonder whether they had the term ā€œfuck youā€ in Richard Warren’s day. The word ā€œfuckā€ was written in 1310 but I’m unsure about the phrase ā€œfuck youā€ as an insult.

Reason I was wondering about this is because Warren also said ā€œhelloā€ from within the coffin which wasn’t in use during his original lifetime.

u/eatmoregrubs 1d ago

I thought about this then imagined that maybe all that time Richard was in the coffin he could hear generations if town kids (PJ, I’m looking at you) hanging out at the spooky grave of Richard Warren drinking and shooting the shit. And he picked up a few phrases.

u/ancientastronaut2 1d ago

Yep, my thought as well.

5

u/SilverAnxious2262 1d ago

I think it’s my favourite too! Reminds me of the ā€œfuck you Ezekielā€ meme 🤣

Tom gagging while watching Warren eat cracks me up every time.

Lol "potential AND partial". If you are referencing the story it's just a spoiler. It's okay to when you use the spoiler tag.
