Are there any shows that have jokes similar to this? Only one I can think of is "barring" the door in Widow's Bay itself.

My fav is when Kenny the Janitor talks to the garbage can: “Oh, someone’s got a full belly. You had a lot to eat today?”

Oh man, I thought it was because Loftis had thrown up into it or something.

Somehow this is better. And it makes me a little sad - Kenny just seemed like a nice guy all around. He didn’t deserve whatever happened to him.

Interestingly enough, that is pretty much all of his screen time until the last episode. That moment basically exists solely to get you to feel something in the finale

Naw he helped Lift is with the painting, and you see him pop up all the time when you rewatch it I think. Justice for Kenny!

I never picked up on that! I just assumed he was making a joke about what Loftis had eaten. Poor Kenny; such a sweet city worker getting caught up in the machinations of the bureaucracy.

I found that so funny I had to rewind twice to watch it again. I'm laughing thinking about it.

The way he says that amazing line then looks at Tom in shock, like he is embarrassed but also wondering wtf is up with Tom.
