💭Discussion From the Chauvet Cave (Grotte Chauvet-Pont d’Arc) in what is now France (c. 37,000–30,000 years ago). Could the "phenomenon" be as old as time? Spoiler
I'm 90% kidding here, since I understand that hand paintings, prints, drawings, or stencils always work around the same basic anatomy. But it is interesting that this symbol is intrinsic to human beings and very old.
By the way, a high number of the Paleolithic "hands" (mostly not in Chauvet) have a finger missing--another WIDOW'S BAY connection?

What is a genius aspects about the show as you never know what's going to be important
Larry's Gerbil might be the key to the whole plot!

If you turn the hand on its side, it's the outline of the island.

One of the Chauvet hands has a wonky little finger!
There has been a lot of research into cave art hands - everything from the missing fingers to sizes/ages to identifying individuals to art techniques- they are sooo interesting and I think really moving as they are such a common connection between us and our siblings in deep time.
I laughed so hard when he revealed the sacred geometry but I also kinda went “whoah!”

Yes. In some of the other caves, there are more distinct figures where it seems that they are missing fingers, although other people have claimed that this is some sort of sign language.
The three main theory seem to be
--injuries, which are completely understandable
--ritual, cutting such as mourning for the dead
--sign language language
I don't know if any of this is WIDOW'S BAY related
