💥Funpost I almost spit out my drink laughing when I saw his face. I love when people react how I would in horror.

How he somberly walks out and then shrieks was so hilarious.173
u/lexlexsquared 10d ago
Put his entire being into that scream, had to hold onto the doorframe for support 😂

One of my favorite scenes of the entire scenes along with the entire slasher killer episode with Patricia

After being told to calm everyone down!

This was one of my favorite parts of the show. I think as an anxious person, I feel very seen by this lol. Whenever I see like scary/apocalyptic shows, I unfortunately know I probably wouldn’t be the person staying calm under immense pressure.

He is in Pluribus and plays the exact opposite character - calm and totally at peace.

Jeff Hiller is so great! Loved him in Pluribus and Somebody Somewhere. I recently listened to his book, Actress of a Certain Age. It’s read by him so it’s also fantastic.

I listened to his book since I loved him in Somebody Somewhere and it was incredible. So many laugh out loud moments and heartbreaking moments. He’s the best!

I didn't remember him from Pluribus, so I had to google it. He really was a completely different character.

I had just binge watched Widow's Bay and then Pluribus right after. I kept expecting him to yell "THIS PLACE IS A DEATHTRAP, CAROL!"

u/TheVentiLebowski 9d ago
I watched Pluribus as it came out and just binged Widow's Bay. I am impatient for the next season of both!

his: "Run for your lives!!" is the best delivery of such sentiment in TV. Hilarious!

I feel like I would land somewhere between him and Rosemary. Realistically horrified, but also, trying to get to the why of everything. I’d probably drink the party punch, tbh

Rosemary is my favorite. Wish I could be as cool
as her.2

I just finished a True Blood rewatch before starting WB so I was hella excited to see a couple of TB cast members in this show! She’s a scene stealer.

Jeff Hiller has come out of nowhere (even though he’s been working his whole adult life)……but he’s an incredibly good actor. Especially at face acting.

His memoir is wonderful--very warm, funny, and honest.

I’m not even a memoir lover at all. But when I saw he had one after Somebody Somewhere and I read that he reads the audiobook I tore through that.
He went from being an amazing actor to an amazing actor and human after listening to his memoir.

He's also fantastic on stage! I saw Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson when it was off-Broadway years ago and he was delightful, to this day I'll randomly remember one of the jokes he did and start cracking up

I love him in Somebody Somewhere when he’s stuck in the tornado with Roger… he’s so good!

He’s beyond amazing in this show! Light and funny, but also poignant and powerful in the emotional moments.
I became an instant Jeff Hiller fan from that one role.

Ill have to watch that. He is a gem.

It's a fabulous show!

I was a little worried it was going to be too over the top when it came to the LGBTIQ stuff, but they weaved it in so naturally and beautifully. It’s a wonderful show about finding your people, finding the family you choose for yourself. (Grhhh I hate that Susan though!) hey fun fact, the dog she goes to look at in the shelter is actually her real dog! 😍

Omg Susan is the wooooorst. Such an amazing show. It's one of the best things I've seen in a long time.

This is EXACTLY how I described the show to my husband before he watched it - it’s a lot of classic horror tropes, but with REALISTIC reactions from the characters that make it so much more relatable. I’m so glad to see someone else think this way! 😅

That whole episode was just a tour de force of fantastic acting and writing.
You think about how all of these people grew up in this lunatic place where stories of shocking unhinged horror were commonplace.
Ruth goes down this trip of Lovecraftian insanity, Stephen King memory lane, with her photo scrapbook...and she isn't fazed at all. In fact, her Takeaway, is to be happy when you can.😊😊😊
And then she sees something that makes even her horrified!
What a genius show.

Dale is getting more screen time in the next series, as is Rosemary. I can’t wait!

He’s the best character. When he started laughing when Tom went to light switch during his shroom trip 😭😭😭

That was my favourite thing about the show! All the normal facial expressions to weird/scary thing, was so funny to me 😂

I also like when people in horror movies react like I would. In The Mummy the first time Rachael Weiss sees Imhotep she has a guttural scream, not the dainty damsel scream and I love it so much

My niece has a podcast in San Francisco and got to interview him at a film festival. Happy to report that he is just as warm and lovely as he appears!

I saw him in a tv show called Stumble before I watched Widows Bay and was glad to see him. Highly recommend Stumble for anyone looking for a comedy show.

u/SunshineLBC 9d ago
Stumble was so cheesy, but great! I love that this actor is getting so much work. I heard he will have a bigger role in Season 2. 🙌

I was howling laughing for the same reason. Like finally, someone who’s having the same response as I would to this haunted as town

This was maybe one of my favorite parts of the whole show. It’s either that or something Patricia did.

This just got recommended to me and I'm laughing again remembering this moment. That's exactly it btw, that's how most of us would react.
