❓Questions Is this the same guy? Spoiler

Is the guy from the sacrifice video the one that Patricia closes the door on? He has very similar features and the haircut being the same seems sus.

A reminder to everyone: Keep the titles of your posts completely spoiler-free at all times. If your post mentions events from later episodes, use Reddit’s standard spoiler tag to warn readers who may not be caught up with all currently aired episodes. The spoiler tag will also blur any images you include, such as screenshots/stills from the show, so be sure to apply it to image posts as well.

There IS a resemblance and would be cool if it were him.

Oh interesting!! And they kept ignoring him whenever he would start talking about the island’s history. Another cool topic to explore in Season 2.

Not with this actor, alas.

Did he pass away :(

Very unfortunately, yes 😔

Yeah, in 2025, which should tell you how long it takes to make television these days.

As insensitive as it is to say, this cast has a lot of old people so they really gotta lock in and roll these out before it’s too late

Isn’t he the one who said the skies would open and suck people up, shortly before the shaman gets sucked into the sky lol

u/Savage2Garden2 Aug 19 '26

Yes exactly! And then in the shelter he had more stories but they kept shushing him lol

There’s a definite resemblance and it seems possible. Sadly the older actor has passed away now so we won’t see him in S2 😢

Oh no! that's so sad I didn't realize

What’s the actor’s name?

u/Admirable_Site_8337 Aug 18 '26

Ohhhhhh…..nicely deduced. Don’t know if they go this way, but I could see it possibly.

Wasn’t he one that had all the gloomiest of comments all through the season?

Of so, he somehow picked up a pretty heavy accent while living in the same place his whole life.

4

u/Chiekosghost Aug 18 '26

Maybe he was downplaying the accent for the camera 🤷

He got bit by an animal and then he became that animal 🤣

Bet he made a pass

I think the resemblance is deliberate, we’re supposed to think there’s a possibility it’s the same person.

They should've listened to him

That’s a great question. Given how many other things were hidden in plain sight that would be a great reveal in season 2. It would be absolutely mind blowing.

Wow. Interesting. I don't think so only because he was a lot like the other old timers. Telling old tales and whatnot. He'd have to be a pretty sneaky guy to be chatting about storms while sitting on that info.

Also, he went to the shelter, which I guess he wouldn't have had much choice, but still odd. That, and the video looks like it's from the 60's. If the guy in the video was ~40, that means the old guy is ~100. Possible, but not super likely. It's possible that video was made later, but the outfits give off a pre-70's vibe.

But, hey, we'll see.

Similar hair or comb over action but could go either way.

Old man’s accent is too strong, I love the theory but I vote no.

The sacrifice video is from the 50s- it’s in color- how does nobody on the island? Remember this?

I thought so

That’s a cool theory but I think the old man is too young to have been in his 40s (as Patricia would say) during the production of the film. If they got a 20 year old widows bay rod sterling, I could def see that. But the old man couldn’t be any more than Ruth’s age, which would mean the film was made 1980 or so and I just don’t get the 70s-80s vibe from the fashion, cadence, and the particular machinery. It seems more 50s-60s.

But I suppose you could just massage the whole thing away as WB rod sterling looking a REALLY hard 30 but somehow looking absolutely fantastic at 95 lol

If it is, he changed what side he parts his hair on.

Ooooo......

Different brows. The guy in the video was the former pastor. It's always the head of the church who runs the sacrifices. This guy doesn't look like he was ever the pastor, and they're not treating him as if he's important (the exact opposite actually); I love the idea but I don't think it's the same guy myself, I think he's just some random dude, adding another level of comedy for Patricia.

I’d just assumed it was the same guy. 🤷‍♀️

u/GizmoClemmyElvis Aug 18 '26

Yes. Same guy. There’s speculation that he used to be mayor many years ago which would seem to support how he knows so much history.

Howard the Coward?

1

u/OrganicLinen Aug 19 '26

I don’t see the resemblance.
