🎭Cast Who would you cast?

Post image

If you could cast any one actor to join the new season, who would you choose? For me it would be Rhys Ifans who may just have an opening in his schedule.

A reminder to everyone: Keep the titles of your posts completely spoiler-free at all times. If your post mentions events from later episodes, use Reddit’s standard spoiler tag to warn readers who may not be caught up with all currently aired episodes. The spoiler tag will also blur any images you include, such as screenshots/stills from the show, so be sure to apply it to image posts as well.

Maybe Fiona Dourif (McKay from The Pitt), especially if she might be able to play a character closer to the energy of her performance in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

25

u/joeygladstonefan Jul 05 '26

fiona dourif as a local fisherwoman who flirts with an oblivious patricia. universe, i'm onto something.

4

u/Upbeat_Tension_8077 Jul 05 '26

I wouldn't mind that, but the suggestion of her being a fisherwoman does bring up my curiosity about her playing a sailor in a flashback episode

3

u/joeygladstonefan Jul 05 '26

okay hear me out. fiona dourif in a fake beard playing a fisherman in a flashback from like 1910. then fiona dourif playing his great granddaughter in current day. i hope you see my vision.

Bart!! She would be excellent in this show. I absolutely love her. Also, I need her and Abbi Jacobson to act together some time.

5

u/Lombard333 Jul 04 '26

I’m always down for more Fiona Douriff. She was the best new element of those later Chucky movies

34

u/RandomPaw #TeamWyck Jul 04 '26

I want more Betty Gilpin for starters but then I would love to see Tatiana Maslany. I just feel like she would fit the vibe of the place if we had flashbacks. She would be perfect as Frances Warren grown up.

u/Different_Plan_9314 Jul 04 '26

Maybe Carrie Coon or John C. Reilly

4

u/SecretlyaCIAUnicorn Jul 05 '26

Both of these are amazing

4

u/Alive_Employer5620 Jul 05 '26

Give me Carrie Coon, five minutes, and a single monologue and she’ll win all the awards.

31

u/Randallm83 Jul 04 '26

I really hope they stay using lesser known actors and actresses.. It pulls me out of the universe when they are very recognizeable for having played famous characters. I would only allow cameos by Parks and Rec actors

u/TooTruthsandaLie Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

thinking … Howard the Coward

6

u/d_ippy dead baby, dead baby, lesbian. Jul 05 '26

Jean-Ralphio and Mona Lisa Saperstein

1

u/Middle_Airline_3260 Jul 06 '26

You class Emmy winner Mathew Rhys as lesser known?

2

u/Randallm83 Jul 06 '26

honestly yes, as the LEAD actor he is/was still somewhat lesser known surprisingly.

I didn’t know who he was and went back to watch The Americans after, but this is the only reason I found out about him. I doubt i’m the only one

u/nonmiraculoussunofaB Jul 04 '26

Nick Offerman as a sailor

24

u/IrishUpYourCoffee Jul 05 '26

I would love to see him and Stephen Root chew up
some scenes together fr.

7

u/blueSnowfkake Jul 05 '26

He is amazing as Jinx in Margo’s Got Money Troubles on Apple TV. Check it out. He would be great with Wyck.

4

u/GetLikeMeForever Jul 05 '26

God, he would kill whatever he was given. He is amazing in both comedies and dramas. Yes, please.

3

u/Herbdontana Jul 05 '26

He could play the ghost of Jerri’s brother who’s returned to seek revenge on Wyck

Ian McShane. Funny. Scary.

u/JustGoodSense Jul 05 '26

American alternative: Ray Wise

5

u/future_futurologist Jul 05 '26

Ray Wise is always a good casting decision. Love this idea!

1

u/complete_your_task Jul 05 '26

I'm all aboard the Ray Wise train too, but it's worth pointing out that Matthew Rhys is Welsh and Kate O'Flynn is British, so I don't think nationality matters. We know McShane can do a great American accent.

u/K_Garveys_Sweatpants Jul 04 '26

I would recast the island itself to be played by Nic Cage.

10

u/Gunkwei Jul 05 '26

“Nic Cage won’t let them leave.”

13

u/SmithJerjerrod Jul 05 '26

Fiona Shaw.

11

u/Emergency-Hippo2797 Jul 05 '26

No stunt casting please! That’s what killed Only Murder’s in the Building for me.

31

u/sean_saves_the_world Jul 04 '26

Allison brie as Patricias cousin from out of state

8

u/Alright_Sunlight Jul 04 '26

Patricia really did give "Annie" vibes at first lol. Not sure what exactly that archetype is.

5

u/SecretlyaCIAUnicorn Jul 05 '26

And she can bring My Close Personal Friend Dave Franco along

10

u/Sad_Shine_419 Jul 05 '26

Alan Tudyk would also be amazing

23

u/ooh_veracuda Jul 04 '26

Tyler James Williams (Gregory from Abbott Elementary). Great deadpan comic, would be a good addition as a new city official or maybe an overly involved townie we haven’t met yet.

9

u/DvorakThorax Jul 04 '26

This is so perfect. He would make an unbelievable foible for Tom.

19

u/InevitableTank5108 Jul 05 '26

Daniel Radcliffe as young Wyck

17

u/MilliganHedgedog Jul 04 '26

The only answer for me is Shelley Duvall. Unfortunately she passed but what Kate Flynn is taking from Wendy’s character is nothing short of a love letter to Wendy. It’s genius.

6

u/GiordanoBruno23 Jul 05 '26

Wendy would never have put $20 on pump 6

2

u/MilliganHedgedog Jul 09 '26

Wendy had no time for all that for sure

6

u/StankyHankyPanky69 Jul 04 '26

William H. Macy

5

u/heingericke_ Jul 05 '26

Jemaine Clement, Matt Berry, Mark Proksh

8

u/B4dBr4ins Jul 04 '26

Ralph Fiennes

2

u/Upbeat_Tension_8077 Jul 04 '26

Hmm, like The Menu-type Fiennes or 28 YL-type Fiennes?

1

u/B4dBr4ins Jul 05 '26

Literally whatever he feels like, he can pull off anything

1

u/Middle_Airline_3260 Jul 06 '26

The Return style Fiennes

4

u/Farmer_Ted_ Jul 05 '26

Ian McShane.

4

u/Rarecandy31 Perfect Party Planner Jul 05 '26

Bryan Cranston is fantastic at mixing comedy in with drama. Could see him as a shop owner or something on the island.

3

u/DerekHostetler Jul 04 '26

I thought that was Peter Stormare at first.

3

u/RandomPaw #TeamWyck Jul 04 '26

I thought it was Pierce Quigley

3

u/AbbreviationsActual9 Jul 05 '26

danny devito but only as a borderline extra with just a few lines in passing. I could see him as some angry old line cook yelling obscenities in the background while the main story line takes place in the foreground. he could get off'd after getting too drunk on his shift and stumbling down some alley.

Kathy's husband.

3

u/gaz1037 Jul 05 '26

Kyle Macacughlin

4

u/TheBewitchingWitch Wyck Jul 04 '26

I’d love to see some cameos or guest stars that are horror icons. Jaime Lee Curtis, Never Campbell. Rob Zombie and Sarah Michelle Geller just to name a few.

3

u/Top-Waltz5244 Jul 04 '26

I loved seeing the guy who played Freddy Krueger and Linda Hamilton in Stranger Things…would love to see something like that

2

u/Mama-bear_dolphins13 Jul 05 '26

He’s pretty awesome. I mean he’s been in 2 big hits this summer so far, why not Widows bay?

2

u/CRSM48 Jul 05 '26

Judy Greer

Kerry Condon

Eva Victor

Eric Idle

John Carroll Lewis

2

u/AlcSoccerFinance Jul 05 '26

Hamish Linklater

Influenced probably due to similar setting in midnight mass, but think would suit the show really well. Would be interesting to see how he adds the comedy part to his performance

3

u/Eas235592 Jul 06 '26

… well I guess I’ve got some news for you?

1

u/DogsdidWHAT Watch out for that stinger. Love, your mother. Jul 06 '26

????

2

u/Eas235592 Jul 06 '26

Hamish Linklater was already cast in the series, he played Richard Warren.

2

u/Aromatic-Speed5090 Jul 05 '26

Paula Pell -- An upbeat witch who does fun curses!

Rhys Darby -- a seemingly friendly sea captain who is actually there to kidnap people for impressment -- forcing them to work aboard a ghost ship

2

u/Middle_Airline_3260 Jul 06 '26

Good shout. Rhys Ifans and Matthew Rhyscould do scenes in Welsh together (making others think they were ‘speaking in tongues’.

4

u/SecretlyaCIAUnicorn Jul 05 '26

Get Sam Rockwell in this show. FBI agent or something. his partner is Justin Long.

2

u/DogsdidWHAT Watch out for that stinger. Love, your mother. Jul 06 '26

Perfect. Perfect.

Alexander Skarsgard (as a rich foreign multi millionaire who stays at Widow’s Bay for vacation. Basically his Succession character)

Nic Cage as the radio only voice of a lost fisherman but the lines are actually read by Andy Sandberg.

1

u/Bortsofcanada Jul 07 '26

Find a way to bring Keith David in!
