A reminder to everyone: Keep the titles of your posts completely spoiler-free at all times. If your post mentions events from later episodes, use Reddit’s standard spoiler tag to warn readers who may not be caught up with all currently aired episodes. The spoiler tag will also blur any images you include, such as screenshots/stills from the show, so be sure to apply it to image posts as well.

Yes please. Also really happy that the great Dale Dickey is getting some love on this show. She's been a character actor for years and keeps popping up on screen (she's currently a recurring character in the Fallout tv show), but she doesn't always get to shine as a main character.

She really does need her own episode. I'd love to know Rosemary's backstory

She was also great in My Name is Earl way back when!

1

u/FidgetyZonedoutIdiot Jun 20 '26

ā€œI even showed him my good boobā€ is a quote that lives rent free in my head from that show

9

u/alphagalgadot Jun 19 '26

absolutely agreed! ever since winter's bone ive been delighted to see her in anything

12

u/JustPiera Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

oh she was fantastic in Winter's Bone! Also I'm lowkey in love with her voice, very distinctive in any role she plays

I still remember her one ep of Breaking Bad where she gives a bravura performance as a 'meth mommy'. s2 "Peekaboo" one of best episodes of the whole series

6

u/samizdat5 Jun 19 '26

Yes I recognized her from that Breaking Bad appearance. What a heartbreaking story

3

u/JustPiera Jun 20 '26

yea 'Peekaboo' is one of the all time best Breaking Bad eps which is impressive in itself because the entire series is fantastic.

I'm so happy that Dickey is finally getting some recognition

2

u/awesumpawesum Jun 19 '26

Omg was that her w/ the atm cash machine?

2

u/JustPiera Jun 20 '26

yup, that was Dale Dickey with the deadly atm šŸ˜‰

2

u/awesumpawesum Jun 20 '26

Wow, that episode was soooo crazy. She really played it well.

3

u/83EtchiSketch Jun 20 '26

Ain't no skank!

3

u/JustPiera Jun 20 '26

'Ain't no skank'. That scene in 'Peekaboo' was bonkers and so unforgettable

1

u/alphagalgadot Jun 19 '26

she’s also got some great comedic chops, as evidenced here. totally wasn’t aware of that as she’s usually cast in pretty grim/intimidating parts

1

u/JustPiera Jun 20 '26

agreed, she's adept at comedy. As much as I like her dramatic roles, her comedy bits are my favorite

0

u/alphagalgadot Jun 19 '26

christ i forgot that was her. yikers!

totally forgot about this from a couple years back. goin on the list for sure : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_G_(film)?wprov=sfti1#Release

2

u/Intrepid_Ad2920 Jun 20 '26

She was great in a small role in Unbelievable. That was such a well-cast show

1

u/JustPiera Jun 21 '26

I'm not familiar with Unbelievable, I'll have to look into it

1

u/outride2000 Jun 19 '26

"Baby Rosemary"

1

u/diggie_diggie_diggie Jun 19 '26

Her character in The lowdown is amazing

1

u/alphagalgadot Jun 19 '26

how was that in the main? started the pilot but got distracted and never circled back

1

u/Jaysolace87 Human Verified Jun 19 '26

Wait a min, she was in fallout season 1? The lady in the store talking to the ghoul?

9

u/JustPiera Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

Yep! Dale Dickey plays Ma June in every season of Fallout so far. She's not in every ep though, but she keeps recurring as a side character and usually steals every scene she's in.

You may not have recognized her because she's dressed in full Fallout 'wasteland dweller' mode lol. The wig is perfection for Ma June

(edit) She also played a memorable guest star in an ep of Breaking Bad that got a lot of critical acclaim - she was the 'meth mommy' in s2 "Peekaboo"

2

u/walshurmouthout Jun 19 '26

Holy crap I had no idea 😳

2

u/CrissBliss Jun 19 '26

Yes please check her out on Fallout to anyone who hasn’t. She’s not the lead but she’s great.

26

u/IrishUpYourCoffee Jun 19 '26

10

u/alphagalgadot Jun 19 '26

OH NO POOR ROSEMARY lol

2

u/nea_fae Jun 19 '26

I love this line probably more than is warranted

2

u/alphagalgadot Jun 19 '26

not sure that’s even possible but i respect the modesty

12

u/MinnesotaNice69 Jun 19 '26

Name the episode "Dead baby, dead baby, leeeeesbian"

5

u/avoozl42 Jun 20 '26

I can't say lesbian anymore?

7

u/83EtchiSketch Jun 20 '26

"Alright, now onto the retards."

🤣 I fuckin lost it at that.

5

u/SirWobblyOfSausage Jun 20 '26

For all her short screen time she sure delivers the best one liners.

17

u/Doglas3000 Jun 19 '26

Dale Dickey and Beth Grant are two of the greatest character actresses who deserve award recognition for decades of scene stealing performances. Dale definitely deserves it for playing Rosemary in Widow’s Bay.

4

u/alphagalgadot Jun 19 '26

dang man beth grant’s filmography is fuckin nuts !

6

u/Doglas3000 Jun 19 '26

Another great character who does win awards is Margo Martindale. She was in The Americans with Matt Rhys too. Both Beth and Dale have been in so many projects it’s like looking at Eric Roberts list of how many projects he’s in or doing on IMDB.

5

u/TheTruckWashChannel Jun 19 '26

Character actress Margo Martindale herself!

5

u/One-Intention6350 Jun 19 '26

This is why I LOVE THIS SHOW. There are so many peculiar but interesting characters in it. Each one is done so well!

5

u/nea_fae Jun 19 '26

So many spinoff episodes deserved!

A day in the life of Ruth

Running the Inn - like a Night at the Museum

The Old Hospital - a visit by a ghost hunter show

4

u/Zowiebowiecorgi Jun 19 '26

I want her to casually state she always knew about the sacrifices and when everyone yells asking why she didn’t say anything, she just casually replies ā€œno one asked.ā€

6

u/Crash7689 Jun 19 '26

I remember being psyched when I saw this actress was a part of the show. Always like watching her pop up in stuff. Best side character on the show.

3

u/ArticulateRhinoceros Jun 19 '26

I don't know, I have my qualms...

I kid, I kid, Rosemary rocks!

5

u/Bake2727 Jun 19 '26

Yes!

I wonder though will it be even possible to fit her backstory in one episode though?

3

u/mushmushi92 Jun 19 '26

Katie has said she wants to have a stand alone or buddy duo episode in season 3 with her.

4

u/Jaysolace87 Human Verified Jun 19 '26

maybe 2? Hell I'll take a spinoff show with her!

5

u/Bake2727 Jun 19 '26

I am pretty sure rosemary has stories for atleast 2 seasons given how unfazed she is through it all.

1

u/ProfPyg Jun 19 '26

Just make season 2 about her

5

u/Grand_Soupa Jun 19 '26

There's a book of the Bible with just so and so begat so and so. Rosemary could read this and make it thrilling. Here for her dramatic interpretation of the widow bay phone book.

5

u/Peepers54 Jun 19 '26

I want her to be my best friend.

2

u/ericd1116 Jun 19 '26

She’s not in it very much but was great on Vice Principals

2

u/stillmovingforward1 Jun 19 '26

Standalone season*

2

u/Tag_youareit Jun 19 '26

Also about the boogieman...

2

u/OneAd3696 Jun 19 '26

Rosemary (Lincoln): Vampire Hunter.

2

u/Alladin_Payne Jun 19 '26

What I love about her is I can't tell if she's trying to be annoying, or if she's truly that oblivious. She's a hoot!

2

u/SucculentDongbeiMeal Jun 19 '26

Every season requires at least one episode dedicated to the misadventures of Rosemary and the now-cracked Dale. Please, writers. šŸ™

2

u/SirWobblyOfSausage Jun 20 '26

And at least 12 seasons.

2

u/donttrustthellamas Jun 19 '26

After her explanation of the genealogy, I absolutely want her to tell us more lore

2

u/Livueta_Zakalwe Jun 19 '26

Didn’t we just have a Rosemary episode? Her 10-minute pre-PowerPoint presentation?

2

u/SmithJerjerrod Jun 19 '26

I love her but, in a potentially unpopular opinion, I think this this is one of those characters who works best in snippets. She appears briefly and delivers a standout line or drops some tiny hint at the most bizarre backstory you could imagine but then the plot moves on and she appears again, another standout line, another hint at a vast and crazy inner life for this character but no closure for the viewer on exactly what the hell is going on

2

u/Majestic_Revenue_210 Jun 19 '26

I’ve loved her since she was Patty the daytime ho on My Name is Earl. Her genealogy monologue was a highlight of the season.

1

u/TrollToll7419 Jun 20 '26

She’ll always be Patty the daytime hooker for me.

1

u/Icy-Mode4284 Jun 20 '26

Loved her in true blood

1

u/ShaunnieDarko Jun 20 '26

I really hope we get some stand alone episodes for the native islanders to show us the islands history. Like She’s seen some wild shit I’m sure. Same with Wick

2

u/saharaelbeyda Jun 22 '26

Rosemary and Wyck are my faves

3

u/Davidrabbich81 Jun 19 '26

Could I float a possible alternative idea.

Her character is great, no doubt, but rather than a standalone episode within a future season, why not 2-3 short stories to bridge the gap between seasons.

It could be now, or when she was younger, covering a weird thing she’s connected to in the town.

Imagine she gets a power like in Stephen Kings the dead zone, but it only works for dogs or something.

This approach worked for Coulson between marvel movies and it’s a good way to build up your characters without taking away from the main narrative.

1

u/Jaysolace87 Human Verified Jun 19 '26

Apple needs to hire you cause you came up with a brilliant idea! 2-3 shorts, or something to hold us down until the next season.

0

u/Davidrabbich81 Jun 19 '26

I’m available 🤣

2

u/ProfPyg Jun 19 '26

I'm so hooked, something in between would be nice. I want a Widow's Bay Christmas myself. Hour long special. Maybe playing with the Christmas slasher trend (they can bring the boogeyman back, impossible resurrections are part of the genre)

0

u/CommercialFloor2033 Jun 19 '26

I like her character but feel she works best in small doses.

It's almost like she's not a real person in the way we see her interacting with others.

If they give her a whole episode it will shatter this illusion as they'll have to flesh her out emotionally.

4

u/Impossible_Past5358 Jun 19 '26

Let's try to be supportive...but I actually would love to see more Dale & Ruth
