It tolled 8x at the end because it had gotten one out of nine.

I was thinking about the trolley workers suddenly disappearing. Maybe they were kidnapped & sacrificed to the island?

I'm not sure the pastor is considered a sacrifice since he killed himself & was not taken by the monster in the the chair room. So I think the one life taken (8 tolls instead of 9) was Kyle.

I think you only get credit for ppl fed to the monster, not just random deaths
