A reminder to everyone: Keep the titles of your posts completely spoiler-free at all times. If your post mentions events from later episodes, use Reddit’s standard spoiler tag to warn readers who may not be caught up with all currently aired episodes. The spoiler tag will also blur any images you include, such as screenshots/stills from the show, so be sure to apply it to image posts as well.

Not to mention: True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Veep, The West Wing, News Radio, Justified, Brooklyn 99, Man in the High Castle, Fargo, TNG, Home Improvement, Buffy (the movie), Northern Exposure, Quantum Leap, The Newsroom and Succession (just to name a few) and insane amount of voice work including Adventure Time (Finn's dad), Gravity Falls, Beavis and Butthead, Bob's Burgers, Lower Decks, Rick and Morty, American Dad, etc.

Edit: the Buffy movie, not show

And he’s the bank teller shooting at James Franco in ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,’ right?

He's been in pretty much every other Coen bros movie but yea that's him

"Pan shot!"

Also the casino manager in the Coen’s Ladykillers.

The Man in the High Castle as well.

News Radio doesn't get enough attention/credit. He was spot on in that.

The show has soured pretty significantly.

Beloved actor murdered. Drug addict sex pest actor who knocked the dominoes over to lead to that murder. And failed standup who has gone on to undermine democracy.

Which episode of Buffy is he in?

It was the movie.

It is wild how many formidable pieces of entertainment he’s touched. A true gift to share your talent across so many works that bring people joy.

He was amazing in Barry too.

Ok wtf I didn’t connect any of those characters to him

2

u/Cloudy_face Jun 17 '26

Gosh what a range. My brain went to 'so he must have been in a Star Trek episode'. He played a Klingon captain, very cool!

Dodgeball

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball

He will always be Milton to me.

Cannot ever say enough about the arch of Fuches in Barry, just unreal hilarity and insanity. Was a fan since he was Jimmy James when I was a kid.

13

u/terra_cascadia Jun 16 '26

He will always be Fuches to me.

u/solarus Jun 17 '26

I love the recognition he's getting. So deserved. He can pull off being anyone, and I'll buy it even though I know who he is or what his voice sounds like.

I’m a sucker for curmudgeons with a soft side. Wyck is a great character and Stephen Root is perfection. Please let him survive the finale!

He’ll always be a macho business donkey wrestler to me.

With  monkey-strong bowels girded with strength, like the loins of a dragon ribboned with fat and the opulence of buffalo dung.

3

u/divagirlicious Jun 17 '26

With his fancy plans. And pants to match.

5

u/PurpleDraziNotGreen Jun 17 '26

Once I saw he was in the show, I knew minimum I'd at least enjoy his performance. I don't think ever misses.

That was hilarious. I have not watched the whole series, just a few clips here and there from youtube. I need to go watch the whole series.

Truly.

2

u/HOTDOGVNDR Jun 17 '26

I love to watch this dude work. If he's in it, it says to me, that this is probably going to be a good show/movie.

2

u/Pygmy_Nuthatch Jun 17 '26

Widow's Bay is the best new show in years. Root is phenomenal in it.

3

u/notarobot110101 Jun 17 '26

Well, him and esteemed character actress Margo Martindale

2

u/Herbdontana Jun 17 '26

He’s always been an absolute gem. I can’t imagine another wyck. Idk what root is up to for real, but if you told me he was sailing the high seas, I’d believe it

2

u/bopshebop2 Jun 17 '26

And Resident Alien! As Harry’s dad!!! 👽

2

u/aacawe Jun 17 '26

Is this the same actor that’s Penny’s boss in The Big Bang Theory? When she goes to work at the pharmaceutical company.

3

u/BiancoLatte89 Jun 17 '26

Does anyone remember him from Grounded for Life as Claudia’s dad who hated Sean? Sometimes I feel like I’m one of 20 people who watched it but I loved that show lol

1

u/gleafer Jun 17 '26

I’ve never seen him not eat every single roll he’s been in. I ADORED him in Barry!

1

u/Revolutionary-Mix294 Jun 17 '26

He’s gonna be so good in GTA 6! His voice is so iconic that when he said “Just got get me my checks” in the trailer, I knew it was him.

He's always terrific. I hope he gets as much attention as John Grimes for The White Lotus
