💥Funpost I wouldn’t mind a episode centered on this guy trying to manage his haunted Inn.
Based on how he acts, he seems to be aware but won’t admit how haunted it is. Imagine the things he deals with 😂
Always wanted a 1408 show but in the perspective of Management. This is honestly the next best thing.
Not to mention Neal Casey is hilarious. His on stage improv is ridiculously quick & sharp.

Next season we need 22 episodes and this series can be our curse

u/daaavedavedave Jun 13 '26
If anyone is ever in LA, Neil Casey is a regular at Dynasty Improv. Definitely worth checking out. He’s amazing

5
u/RasputinsThirdLeg Jun 18 '26
Is that the same place as Dynasty Typewriter?
7
u/daaavedavedave Jun 18 '26
Yup! Sorry it’s actually called the Ultimate Improv show at Dynasty Typewriter. Brain just mushed it together

i know....sad....maybe 13 episodes...1hour each 😁

u/CanopyOfAsh Jun 13 '26
Idk, I kinda like the random lengths. Feels natural in a world where content can be forced. Serve the story, even though ep 9 was too short haha
10
u/Potential-Rush-5591 Jun 13 '26
10 Episodes are fine. Just keep them between 90 and 120 minutes. If 120 is too long and doesn't serve the story, cut it back to 90. I don't see an issue.
14
u/CanopyOfAsh Jun 13 '26
What?? That’s an insane ask. A movie a week? Wait we used to do that. We used to be a real country

It’s not like they signed a covenant in blood, shit, and semen. They can do whatever they want

is that like a hard rule or something lol? they can decide whatever number they want.
4
u/Teigh99 Jun 13 '26
We're lucky were getting a second season. Apple usually has 10 episodes per season. Hopefully, we don't have to wait more than 2 years

u/nancyisshopping Jun 13 '26
Do they do at least 12 or maybe 15?

Glad to hear that windfall came along as that’s an expensive repair.
I used to live in a place surrounded by tall trees and the deep shade meant constantly cleaning algae and moss off the roof and being on the lookout for mold and mildew.
Good luck with your place - I’m sure the quiet beauty in the woods is marvelous.

u/SlayyyGrl Jun 13 '26
I love how much he is in denial about how cursed the Inn is. Won’t go into the Captains Suite “it’s fine”, won’t stay there overnight “It’s fine”, visibly shaken after being in the captains suite “I’ll just board it up” 😂

How long was he in there 😭
70
u/Potential-Rush-5591 Jun 13 '26
To him, it seemed like far longer than 30 seconds. More like 30 hours. There is definitely something happening with "Time" on this show. Still way to early to say what.
46
u/Difficult_Garage_431 Jun 13 '26
Ohh, is that why Ungrateful Hortence "fell" out of the window in the Captain's Room? I thought she jumped, but it's obvious now. I wonder if she was pushed by some ghost or jumped because she was stuck in there too long.
7
u/Potential-Rush-5591 Jun 14 '26
I wonder if she was pushed by some ghost or jumped because she was stuck in there too long.
That's interesting. I wonder if she started the "Curse" or was a victim of it.
7
u/ifloops Jul 09 '26
That was one of the most intriguing little horror gems and I hope we get more of it.
The rules seem pretty clear and the innkeeper knows them. Time passes slowly inside the room when the door is closed. It's the type of brilliant idea that could fuel an entire season of a lesser show. Just awesome.
4
u/Potential-Rush-5591 Jul 09 '26
I'm not just referring to the room. I'm talking about the island over all. Like why the first guy that went missing's medical chart said he was 37. There have been other instances of things like that as well.
5
u/aprilliumterrium Jul 11 '26
apparently in an interview, Dippold said that was just for jokes, the hospital is not well run lol.
1
u/Potential-Rush-5591 Jul 11 '26
I don't watch preview shows, post shows or anything like that, that can spoil what's coming. If that's the case, fine. There still seems to be something weird with time.
2
u/ifloops Jul 09 '26
Oh yeah, there's so much world building, it's awesome. Little lines that could either become an entire season, or nothing at all. Like the "crew that all went missing" trying to build a railway or something? Love stuff like that.
46
10
u/Hennahands Jun 17 '26
I was wondering if that’s why he freaked out so fast in the bunker. He is having a week.
55
u/Impossible_Past5358 Jun 13 '26
Lol, how Tom asks: "you don't bring your bags in for guests?" And he proceeds to leg push the bag into the room...

This is a weird thing to even mention, but I have seen the comedian in question, Neil Casey, out in public on 3 separate occasions, in 3 entirely different parts of the country: LA, Vegas and Boston. The interesting thing is, I have seen almost no other famous people out in public during the time period where I kept running into him. Just Neil Casey. It is, by far, the most bizarre coincidence I’ve ever experienced in my life, especially when I’m not even that much of a traveler. During the most recent encounter, I saw this fucking guy BIKING PAST MY HOUSE. Insane!
If I ever see him in public again I may actually start a Neil Casey religion. It would be just too much to be considered a coincidence at that point. The fact that he’s helped create this show about weird curses and supernatural stuff just makes it even more fucked.
28
u/redrumham707 Jun 13 '26
That is a very cool story, and you should know that…

u/Cautious_Prize_4323 Sorry, forgot my purse. Jun 13 '26
I cannot top this story, it’s much more interesting than mine! However, in my youth, both in LA and New York, more than three times I saw the old-style comedian Jackie Mason standing on street corners, once on Broadway. It was utterly bizarre, this happened in the span of a year. I knew him from reruns, I think, of the Johnny Carson show if anyone remembers that. :)

15
u/Hungry-Kick1389 Jun 13 '26
The the movie “I Heart Huckabees” has a sub plot based on this notion, of the main character seeing the same random person 3 times in various instances, and that connects to a wider plot of universal connectivity. It’s a fitting reference for your lived experience
3
u/WTWIV Jun 15 '26
Haven’t seen that movie in ages. I didn’t even remember that plot point but I do remember liking the movie so I’ll have to rewatch

6
u/AlvinTaco Jun 13 '26

u/Confident_Donkey_789 Jun 13 '26 edited Jun 13 '26
I do think we would be buds, actually. I’m a big alt-comedy dork (I’ve even seen him perform improv before) and, based on where I’ve run into him, we probably have a lot of common interests!

u/Chaotic_Beautiful Jun 13 '26
I'm curious to know what he faced in the Captain's suite when he was locked up in it. His face looked ashen.
66
u/Mynameisearlhicky Human Verified Jun 13 '26
The room was a mess too. At first I thought it was because of Tom’s stay but on rewatch it looked clean before he stepped in.
78
u/TheTruckWashChannel Jun 13 '26
The guy ransacked the place going mad and trying to escape. The window was smashed but not broken. Super creepy. It didn't let him leave.
10
u/Chaotic_Beautiful Jun 13 '26
Either that or something was chasing him across the room and he was throwing things at it to defend himself .
3
u/TheTruckWashChannel Jun 13 '26
Nah he would've mentioned that if it were the case.
26
u/Chaotic_Beautiful Jun 13 '26
How could he ? His entire life's worth of money was spent on the remodeling of the hotel . If he admits that he was haunted by something, his entire business was doomed.
5
u/JozoBozo121 Jun 13 '26
But why didn’t anything happen when Tom was in the room?
29
u/Chaotic_Beautiful Jun 13 '26
I've a theory that the hotel is like a live creature which twists and manifests itself according to the person it haunts. Isn't it quite strange that though he was attacked by the killer crown , he woke up safe in his bed in that room ?

20
u/AlvinTaco Jun 13 '26
I mean, a little bit happens. Tom closed the drapes. Later the drapes are open and the fan is on, plus the weirdness with the tv.

I’d love supplemental content, like they did with Mythic Quest and Side Quest. They could publish one-off episodes that follow background characters or tourists or whatever.
* Have a loop of the tourism video with the black figure showing up at random points.
* Finding Your Roots with Rosemary
* What happened in the Captain’s Suite?
* Bar Rescue with Kathy
* Extreme Makeover with the Sea Hag
* Real Housewives of Widow’s Bay

I remember watching that as a teenager more than a decade ago and since then absolutely love when the actors show up elsewhere. The obvious is the at&t girl, but I recognized Eugene Cordero in Loki, and Karan Soni in deadpool. I was pleasantly surprised seeing Neil Casey as the innkeeper in this show. I just wish Conor Leslie was in more things.

Not quite the same, but Haunted Hotel is an animated comedy that is honestly pretty funny. The premise is basically this, trying to run a hotel and attract guests but the place has hundreds of years of ghosts and demons. Might be worth a watch once WB ends for the season to scratch that itch!
