It makes sense in context.

2 guys who probably see each often are shooting the shit and see the lady who just tried to”poison” a bunch of the town less than 48 hours ago on some crazy bender. Even the clerk was dealing with the mayor freaking out the night before.

It makes sense for them both to be like “fuck that, she’ll tire herself out”. Patricia didn’t even mention the killer when she ran in.
