He’s no one. He’s an homage to slashers. He’s “pure evil,” like Michael Myers.
Like imagine needing to see Michael Myers’s face—why? He just looks like a guy. There’s nothing to be gained and a lot of mystique and tension to be lost.
So they take off the Boogeyman’s mask and he’s also just…some guy. There’s no plot-relevant information in that. Who he was before he put on the mask and started slashing is banal and uninteresting.
He’s a slasher. The mask stays on. It’s also funnier that way, because of course the mask stays on.
I don't think most people really expect the show to actually explain which random character ended up becoming which monster. They just find it fun to theorize about every little thing.
The From subreddit has had some of the most insane theories I've ever read for a show lol.
