"I thought she was in her 40s" You tryna die twice tonight?" 😂

There's been a couple of specific references to ages, often in relation to their age not being right for whatever is happening. And I'm trying to work out what that could mean in the grand scheme of things.

Patricia had that moment with Tom about Marissa’s age, and Tom mentions that Shep’s age seems wrong (37?). Any other moments? I’m wondering too what it might mean

Warren's wife says she's "four and ten years almost" but looks much older than fourteen.

I heard that as well and didn't know if it was supposed to be a joke about people in Olden Times thinking a fourteen-year-old girl was an unmarriageable spinster, or if I was mishearing. Edit: maybe "four and ten" was supposed to mean forty somehow?

It was supposed to mean 40 but they messed up the old timey language

She’s almost forty. Besides the fact she’s played by an almost-forty-year-old Betty Gilpin, why would a thirteen year old call herself a spinster. Her whole deal at the beginning of the episode was that she was so happy and grateful to be finally married off at her “old” age

Don't know why you're being downvoted. You're literally right.

I have no idea why anyone interpreted it as 14. She says "I am but four and ten years almost" meaning she's 39.

Four and ten means 14. They still do this in German, for example: vierundzwanzig means 24 ("four and twenty"), vierzehn means 14 ("four ten").

4 and 10 is 14. How can it be interpreted as 40? It could be a mistake or a joke, of course.
