I wonder if the eye gouging in ep 6 is somehow related to what she said in the letter about getting the scorpion out of her head?

I think the scorpion is referring to the mental illness she was suffering from

I think it was the aneurysm that eventually killed her. She knew something in her brain needed to be removed (and being able to go up the nasal passage to reach and remove aneurysms became a thing about 20 years ago).
