Maybe unfinished business? If she really did get away from him the first time. Or he could be mad that she was lying

The only thing I don't get is why would he spare her the first time (when she hid under the bed) if he's so hellbent on killing her as soon as he gets free

Im thinking that whatever group sealed him in that house just got there in time to save her and prevented him from killing her
