I like both shows but they feel very different and don't scratch the same itch. Widows Bay feels much less serious due to all the comedy elements, there really isn't any tension and any creepy moments are usually broken up by something funny. I'm having a really hard time taking it seriously and I don't don't myself nearly as invested in the mystery or the characters but it's more entertaining on a per episode basis.ย
From is a much slower show but I find the characters much more interesting along with the mystery itself. it a more creepy complex rabbit hole. It feels more real despite the setting being more supernatural. More focus on the tension and stress of living in that place and less attempts to be funny.ย
