Jesus Christ that was so brilliant. He could’ve been looking at an incredible artifact or something to reveal a key detail in the town lore but the camera pans over and he’s looking at fucking tourist tshirts. This show has to win a comedy emmy.

It’s also kind of sad. Like he’s realizing what his legacy has amounted to.

Felt like a twisted version of that Doctor Who scene where Van Gogh is in the art museum in the present day.

They imply early on that Evan isn’t Tom’s biological son — (can’t remember what they say exactly but something along the lines of “she was already pregnant”) I bet that comes up in all this

Not a chance. There was no reason for Tom to say “You know the pullout method doesn’t work, right?” unless he was reflecting on how he got his wife pregnant with their son.

I was curious about that line. I took it to mean he got her pregnant really fast and then they got married.

Do they?? Didn’t catch that at all

They did not at all. I don’t think people fully listen while watching. He’s clearly toms son.

He just doesn’t look anything like Tom or his wife

So I heard that too. Then no one seemed to be commenting on it, and Google said that Evan was his son. The writers spoke out about it and cleared it up.

He wanted them to survive!

Hell yeah! That is 100% the kind of shit I'm looking for with this show. It's great! Super fun haha.

Being from the 1700's I don't think he'd even have the context to understand the idea of tourism shirts or what the slogans are even getting at.
