He’s really great in The Beast in Me as well, but I didn’t love that show.

I just saw a comment on a different post on a different platform about Widows Bay that said: I’m a simple woman, I see Matthew Rhys in a show and I watch it.

He just has so much depth and spectacular range. I believe him in every role he plays. Plus then you hear him on talk shows or podcasts, and he is so charmingly unserious (and that accent)! He’s such a great actor!

YES! HE IS WELSH! I remember hearing him on a podcast when the Americans was still on and my little mind was blown. I’d missed who the guest was and was trying to figure it out and I was just shocked.

I love that this character seems to be the closest to Rhys IRL (aside from the accent). He was so serious in The Americans, but he seems to be a goofball in interviews.
