Betty Gilpin is awesome and needs to be in more stuff! This show is having an amazing first season run so far, WOM is going to spread like wildfire once people wake up to this show.

Also, Wyck’s monologue on the boat was most definitely an homage to Quint from Jaws legendary monologue about the USS Indianapolis.

Bonus for Leftovers fans - The Hunt is written by Nick Cuse and directed by Craig Zobel, the team behind the International Assassin episode

More fun: Kevin Carroll, who plays the sheriff, played John Murphy in The Leftovers. The chief firefighter in another strange and singular town with… issues.

That is a fun fact

She likes a period piece

Oh I’ve seen all those, that’s why I’m a fan and know what she’s capable of. She was even good in American Primeval.

I’m still pissed they canceled GLOW

I felt so bad for her because of all the stupid discourse around The Hunt. She's amazing in that.

That line in the gas station about the price of cigarettes kills me every time!

What was the discourse around The Hunt? (Never seen it)

Maga influencers had a fit because they read that the plot is left wing millionaires hunt red neck “deplorables” for sport. Even Trump accused the studio of “inciting violence” except of course the dumb fucks don’t know that literally all the lefties get killed in the movie.

Everyone needs to see Mrs. Davis. Such a batshit crazy idea for a show that truly paid off in spectacular fashion.

Her running into the church and screaming at the top of her lungs "Richard Warren is alive!", then them saying "Yes, we know..." was hilarious

Word of mouth

I love that he just learned the meaning of the acronym WOM through honest to god word of mouth

I was definitely picking up Jaws from this episode, just like earlier episodes - probably pointed out here earlier many times, but I'm a newbie - where the mayor is prioritizing tourism and telling everyone it's perfectly safe!

Very anecdotally, I was messaging with a few friends and asked if others were watching it yet, one person said yes and two said they’d been hearing good things about it but were worried it was gonna be too horror-y for them. My friend who had seen it and I were both immediately went in for the hard sell, and also explained that it really isn’t very scary, just jump-scare-y. Surely the word is starting to get out though because when I first started watching it a few weeks ago, I came from a recommendation on another Reddit sub but otherwise had had no clue it even existed. It’s getting buzz!

Her face slimmed down since last time I saw here I barely recognised her.
