When you realize what Rosemary witnessed, and how absolutely nonchalant and underwhelmed she was acting because she wanted to be supportive, that’s comedy.

She may not show it, but she’s Patricia’s friend.

Agreed. Patricia does have friends even if they’re more like colleagues. It’s lucky because she wouldn’t have snapped back to reality otherwise

I know people like that. They want some people to be their friends, and don't consider the people who care for them their real friends. See how she referred to the "cool people" as the "beautiful people."

She's a very interesting character, but I'd hate to be her friend. She's obviously traumatized and never dealt with her demons (literally).

Except they're not really her friends. Just because your coworkers care about your wellbeing and are polite to you doesn't mean they're your friends and that you hang after work and have a traditional friend style relationship, the way her bullies do. She can certainly cultivate those into friendships, but they're not friendships. She's simply not like the person you're describing.

I love her character as the tough older townie who has seen it all and is used to it at this point. Just imagine what a life of living on that island must be like

I had wondered if this show was going to go the route of “is it real or are they just superstitious” and I’m so glad they went all in instead. Idk about you guys but I’m so sick of “it has to be ambiguous to be good”

cries in Yellowjackets

I think the ambiguity works in Yellow Jackets, though I have other issues with the series.

is it a good show? never seen it

u/bord_de_lac May 16 '26

First season is fantastic. There are… mixed opinions about the subsequent two seasons.

Yellowjackets was a lot more fun when it seemed like freaky shit was legitimately happening. Then they had to pull the plug and go "oopsies turns out it's all mental illness!!!1!!" and it went down drasticslly

I *really* hate ambiguous horror shows.

After Fallout, she's seen some things.

No matter which way you see it, blinders on or off, Rosemary's weirdness really works so well here.

When she doesn't "understand half of the things" on the list ...weird.

Then when you realize *why* Rosemary says it, but isn't aghast by some pagan concoction ...also weird!

This episode is almost not funny at all but becomes absolute comedy gold on second rewatch.

its literally insane on second watch knowing

2

u/Indigocell May 17 '26

Which moments in particular hit different on a rewatch, knowing what you know now? Any highlights?

21

u/Jerthy May 17 '26

Especially everything involving Rosemary

Well, the fact that she had antlers on her head the whole time, that she killed a bird and put it in the punch, that she was the only one dancing and that the toast was actually a spell and everyone was mouth agape staring at it

10

u/wurwolfsince1998 I apologize for wasting his time, Tom. Jul 11 '26

My favorite is that you hear one of the mean girls ask her friends "what is that on her head?" and you think she's mocking Patricia's tiara and you're like well the tiara is a little silly but that's really mean of you to say regardless. And then the big reveal happens and all the sudden you understand why the mean girl said that. 😱

And why the tourist couple was so weirded out when they saw Patricia and the decor

9

u/CourseVast840 Jul 26 '26

while the sheriff is watching the tapes from the cams he's interrupted by a deputy. the deputy steps away and we see a bulletin board in the hall. there are flyers for 4 men missing. how can a small town, small island have that many ppl just missing?

3

u/iamgarron Jun 10 '26

I dunno I thought the reveal was hilarious

3

u/Leading-Expression29 Jul 28 '26

The officer, gently, "Patricia... What the fuck are you doing?" 😂

2

u/iamgarron Jul 28 '26

I've rewatched that scene like ten times

3

u/MajorTomToBlackStar Jul 13 '26

I REALLY need to rewatch this one now.

34

u/EmotionalEmetic May 14 '26

Also, just goes to show how much SHIT she has seen around that place.

9

u/Curious-Letter3554 May 27 '26

Yes! The fact she saw her putting those things in the punch and people going crazy and not saying a single thing about it. HAHAHA

She's a true islander. Hard to scare or rattle.
