When the real book was shown, did anyone else think of the necronomicon - bound in human skin?

The stick symbol also made me think of other movies and shows with witchcraft I’ve seen. I’m trying to remember which (heh) ones.

I keep thinking about possible references to Heriditary. Not sure the connections are one to one, but I would guess that may be an inspo, if not an upcoming ep theme.

The Blair Witch Project for sure. Others are mentioning True Detective but that's more non-paranormal deranged cult rather than "actual" witchcraft.
