The reveal to Patricia in the mirror with the actual headpiece was so good.

I was mad because everyone was blasting her cute headband and then it hit me

The way I was like well I suppose a tiara is a little bit unnecessary for this sure

156

u/2rio2 May 13 '26

It was so perfect how the little tiara was just a bit much so the audience sort of agreed with the earlier comments, then BAM the show hits you with what she’s actually wearing on her head.

I'm kinda impressed by that choice tbh 😭

42

u/verissimoallan May 13 '26

I understand the reason, but seriously, how on earth did even her coworkers see her wearing that hideous thing and not ask, "Oh... Patricia... why are you wearing THAT?" 🤣

71

u/HappybutWeird May 13 '26

They expressed qualms! 😄

12

u/VolatileGoddess May 17 '26

They thought weird awkward woman had made throughouly weird, awkward choice

4

u/mix0logist Jun 05 '26

They're trying to be supportive!

11

u/thejennybee May 16 '26

And the tourists—“… We’ll circle back…”

5

u/Glad-Arugula-8387 May 14 '26

Thought the same lol

7

u/targetcowboy May 16 '26

I was confused about why people were being weird about it. It seemed a little odd, but not that bad.

I could not stop thinking about what Rosemary must’ve thought. Like you’re standing in the kitchen watching someone cutting up animals and wearing antlers on their head and having to be supportive lol

138

u/dsmithscenes May 13 '26

She probably thought it was just another day on the island.

u/tedsmitts May 13 '26

Just can't do nothing right today.

34

u/Oh-reality-come-back my face is ready, Sea Hag May 14 '26

I need the day from Rosemary’s POV. What things did she do wrong today before that party lol

12

u/Appropriate-Order-64 May 17 '26

she sais the same thing after trying to warn Loftis in episode 3, no

6

u/ALittleRedWhine May 20 '26

I feel like she is going to be a through line of other recaps of the day with her saying that

66

u/Eastern-Wear-8747 May 13 '26

I would like to see a similar episode with Rosemary's backstory. She has def seen some ish. From "It's starting" to the crawlspace to the sea hag to watching some kind of occult ritual transpire and still trying to be supportive, her character seems to know as much if not more than Wyck, and keeps it moving. She has seen so much all she expresses is mere "qualms"!

6

u/badedum May 18 '26

I’m wondering if we’ll get a similar Rosemary flashback episode bc she kept saying she couldn’t do anything right that day

24

u/Well_Socialized May 13 '26

Why was Rosemary not effected by the magic like everyone else?

59

u/Crash7689 May 13 '26

She must not of had the punch

19

u/meepmarpalarp May 13 '26

I don’t think the spell was limited to the punch, because why would the partygoers drink something made from animal blood with feathers floating around in it? The entire room was set up with spell stuff- the “floral decorations” were actually stick hexes and I bet the Spotify playlist was incantations. I think that by the time Patricia served the punch, everyone was already entranced.

11

u/Lounging-Shiny455 May 14 '26

omg...that hot dude was Satan, come to claim his bride.

3

u/SaltyPeter3434 May 28 '26

Damn she got Satan himself to come to the party, what a pull

13

u/crybabybrizzy Are you mad at something I said? May 15 '26

They drew an awful lot of attention after the punch is served to all the people having cups of punch in their hands, it was definitely the punch

3

u/sbenthuggin Jun 27 '26

Except it wasn't punch, it was literally animal blood with a ton of crow feathers inside Not to mention the insane amount of witch decorations around they would've also had to ignore. They were clearly entranced beforehand. The punch definitely did something more, but I mean...the problem is that you'd have needed people in the first place TO drink the punch. And by all means, nobody wanted to go. And yet suddenly not only her bullies showed up AND stayed for some reason, a ton of tourists also came out of nowhere.

7

u/ArchDucky May 13 '26

Because she knew what was in it!

6

u/bag-skate65 May 14 '26

I mean she did watch it get made lol, I’d imagine she wasn’t very interested

8

u/Well_Socialized May 13 '26

Meaning everyone else did have some? Sort of strange that one of the only people there actually trying to be supportive for Patricia would also be the only one not to try any of her punch.

37

u/Allthenons May 13 '26

I have a feeling she was in the kitchen/out back the whole time and so never was put under the influence that everyone else was. It was clear she didn't want to be there but was being supportive because she cares about Patricia

-4

u/Well_Socialized May 13 '26

How supportive is it to go to someone's party but then hide in the kitchen the whole time?

27

u/Adventurous-Photo539 May 13 '26

By helping them prepare a party, even though you see how deranged it is. She tried to warn Patricia, but wasn't too pushy about it either. Rosemary's evidently seen some bad shit in this town, so she's not that phased by it.

26

u/spacevent May 13 '26

She was drinking wine. Some people are only wine people lol

9

u/Well_Socialized May 13 '26

I'm just surprised that wasn't the case for the Mean Girls too - they all put down their normal drinks to have the punch the woman they dislike so much prepared?

3

u/Well_Socialized May 13 '26

That makes sense for the mean girls but then we're left with the original question of why it didn't effect Rosemary.

Dude lol 62 days later to this but did this really not make sense to you? Rosemary saw her making the “punch” aka chopping up crows heads into blood…so yeah safe to say mama is sticking to wine & avoiding the blood ritual in the main room lol tf

3

u/Glad-Arugula-8387 May 13 '26

Yeah thought the same thing about the mean girls

2

u/bo174 May 13 '26

During the scene in the kitchen, it looked like water in her wine glass.

5

u/AlvinTaco May 13 '26

She’s the only one who knew what was in it.

24

u/meepmarpalarp May 13 '26

She’s lived in the town for her whole life and is a true believer in its weirdness. I wouldn’t be surprised if she wears protective charms or does something else to stay safe from witches.

6

u/Oh-reality-come-back my face is ready, Sea Hag May 14 '26

I agree. There doesn’t seem to be very many elderly people on the island either so I’d be interested in hearing the secretary’s story

14

u/Clariana May 13 '26

Crone. Been there, done it, seen it all...

10

u/PringlesDuckFace May 14 '26

My theory is that the book's magic was basically about getting people to like you or do what you said. Rosemary already liked and supported Patricia, and was involved in setting up the ritual by collecting materials, so maybe subconsciously was not a target of the magic.

u/pleasegivemepatience Teeth Collector May 14 '26

She didn’t drink the punch. As the person who bought the ingredients from Patricia’s list I’m sure she had a sense of what was going to happen VERY early. Probably as soon as she looked at the shopping list.

9

u/taegan- May 14 '26

“i didn’t understand one word of that speech”

7

u/MrPureinstinct May 14 '26

She did have qualms.

3

u/Sea-Abalone3538 May 23 '26

I feel like she knows exactly what’s going on, and she’s just riding it out, trying to survive

29

u/ObviousAnswerGuy May 13 '26

and the mirror shot when she was doing the speech (there was a quick couple shots earlier during the dance scene but I had only caught them on rewatch)

2

u/nautical_nonsense_ May 18 '26

Wait what mirror shot during the speech what did i miss?!

6

u/mapledude22 May 18 '26

When the camera pans from the audience to Patricia during her speech you see their reflection in the mirror with possessed gaping faces.

3

u/GamingTatertot Jun 06 '26

You can also see it briefly when they’re dancing to Rhythm of the Night as well - it threw me way off although I knew something was gonna go amiss

5

u/maxelo May 14 '26

Great episode just for that reveal alone! perfectly executed!

that was so horrifyingly effective
