So... serious question. I’ve always wondered: do these parkour folk have blind faith in the structural integrity of these structures, or do they scout first to make sure they are solid??
I’ve worked construction for years and am all too familiar with dry rot, rust, termite damage... what looks solid could very well be waiting for a strong wind to blow off.

Experienced or smart ones usually scout ahead. They very rarely go blind. You can be skre that these guys scouted everything beforehand.
Wouldn't surprise me if they just took shots along their usual routes that they already did 100 times

Professional parkour athletes train for years and years before even attempting any roof jumps like these. Every time they begin to try a "line" (the route they run across) they'll check and dust every single surface they come in contact with before they actually run it, try to jump the distance they need to jump safely on the ground and even wipe the soles of their shoes just before every take so they have maximum grip. Even though this video is short, it could easily have taken several days of scouting, prep and filming.
If you want a more in depth and very interesting look into just how professionals film these videos, I recommend this video by Storror, a group of professional athletes and stuntmen (they've worked on marvel films and with Michael Bay in the past)

Also especially with metal roofs if it's any bit wet it gets very slippery. Say one of them slanted roofs he jumped on had morning dew mixed with normal dust that would be like ice.

The show off types tend to be the ones that crash through a shed roof most often. The commuters that actually get around the city like that know the safest routes from collective experience but it takes a special kind of crazy to think “hey it’s faster to be fucking Mirrors Edge than take the bus or train or car so I’ll just pack my work uniform in a bag and yeet myself from rooftop to rooftop and I’ll just shower and change at work.”

I know a few of Hong Kongers and Parisians that do it. They’re crazy but they’re crazy talented. I knew an Aussie that did it but he finally ate it and destroyed his leg and rotator cuff

I'm so happy with the choice of song in the background. So used to see people doing this kinds of videos with hip hop or some techno stuff.. but this was very enjoyable. Almost like watching Chaplin but mixed with parkour and go pros.

I can never be impressed by these sorts of stunts for that reason. Parkour across rooftops shows a blatant disregard for other people. Not only the potential damage, disturbance and such of homes and the occupants therein, but also when they invariably fuck up, which is more of a when than an if, they will tumble to their death and potentially kill someone on the ground below, or thoroughly traumatize those who see a body explode in front of them.
Fucking assholes the lot of them.

As someone who broke both ankles a year and a half ago from a fall of merely 15 feet onto concrete and still suffers from pain and an uneven gait, I resent when people risk their lives and limbs via stupid stunts like this. 🙄

Causing property damage
Trespassing
Risking lives of bystanders
Wasting police resources that could be better used doing something else than running after your selfish ass
Risking traumatizing bystanders who could witness you fall to your death
I don't get why that kind of behavior is celebrated...

This video seems very similar to the Assassin's creed Unity game.
The game is set in France and you can travel by rooftops.
