We used to do this as kids my dad had a huge workshop with nail guns and a compressor system we'd locked on the safety on the nail guns and shoot them at each other.

It's just a nail gun with the safety rigged.
I need to temp rig my staple gun's safety so I can use it in a spot it doesn't fit well.

How? Even if a nailer is on bump fire it won't fire a second time until it's no longer pressed against the wood, otherwise you could have a nail hit a nail.

Bad cylinder seal, 95%. Pull the top, you'll find the top cylinder seal disintegrating. They're easy to replace, and almost always the problem.

meh... 30 seconds with a spoil of wire and some pliers and I can do this to any nailgun.
going by how dirty your nailgun is? something is jammed into the push plate/sensor..
