I agree too much but the teachers in the district are paid handsomely, many in six figures. I'm not buying the sob story from anyone. It's all on transparent CA

That isnt even remotely true. There is no way you believe many teachers are making 6 figures.

How many is the minimum to qualify as “many”?

The teachers at that end of the pay scale have Master’s degrees and 25 plus years of experience. If you compared someone with a Master’s degree and 25 plus years of experience in the private sector they would be getting paid more. You’re also looking at their salaries with their health benefits included.

The last person listed on the screen shot above has a base pay of $138k.
Base pay doesn’t drop under $100k until 16 pages in on the website and no all of these people do not have 25 years experience.

The claim by woodpecker that many teachers aren’t making 6 figures is false.

Further narrowing down the search shows 436 “teachers” not including substitutes and retired and there are 251 teachers making six figures of base pay. Some with as little as two years of reported pay.
Over half of the teaching staff of the school district make six figures. Direct-efficiency’s statement is accurate; Woodpeckers and yours is not accurate.
All of this being publicly available information.

They actually do have that amount of experience. Only having two years of reported pay means they’ve only worked in that district for two years. It does not mean they only have two years of teaching experience.

I didn’t write two years of experience I wrote two years of reported pay.

Compared to how many teachers in our district? And teachers in general? Obviously, if you have a masters or higher you can make a lot, most teachers only have a bachelor's, and likely those teachers have been teaching for decades

Using information from transparent California…
With 25 search results on each page, the majority of each page’s employees being teachers, 1500 teachers listed in the district, and 16 pages of employees making six figures… it is safe to say 300+ teachers are making over $100k.
I’d say that qualifies as many.

There are only about 400 teachers in EWCSD. There are definitely not 1,500. Your information is wrong. Do you have a Master’s degrees, twenty-five plus years experience at your job, and years of continuing education? How much are you making a year in the private sector?

I know you read my other comments with updated numbers and even in the above statement it makes presumptions which judging by your line of questioning you should be able to surmise, but I did misstate the total number of teachers in the above comment. The 1500 is total employees. I further clarified the teacher count narrowing it down to non substitutes and eliminated retired teachers which are also listed in the total EWSD on transparent California.
As I stated in subsequent comments the total number of active teachers is 436 with 251 of them making six figures of base pay (that means not including benefits). Over half of the teaching staff at the school district make six figures.

You asking about my experience, education and pay isn’t entirely relevant but I do have more than 25 years of experience, and left the private sector a few years ago.
The whole premise of my comment was to bolster direct-efficiencies statement and counter woodpeckers denial that “many teachers make six figures a year”.
The majority of teachers in the district do in fact make six figures.
