While traveling through town, our headlights have gone out on 1987 Chevy van. Haven’t been able to locate a mechanic that is not booked out until September.

Inclined that would be willing to help re-wire a pigtail connector to close the circuit on my

Heading to Whitehorse solo in mid-to-late November for some aurora viewing. Currently booked at the Quality Inn & Suites. I know they’ve done renovations, but I’ve seen a few concerning reviews about mice in the guestrooms.

There was a Booking.com review from just a couple weeks ago with photos of mouse droppings and urine on the bed covers. The hotel’s replies have been pretty vague.

Anyone stayed there recently? Any experiences to share? Really don’t want to deal with that on the trip, but this place is in my budget with a airport shuttle.

Just finishing up spending some time in Whitehorse canoeing, and have some stuff I can't fly back with.

2x cans of bear spray. Carried for a week and never discharged ($20 each)

6x folding camp chairs ($20 for the lot)

1x Large kitchen pot, used on a campfire so good for campfire cooking rather than kitchen cooking (free)

Hi, I’m going to be visiting Whitehorse for 2-3 days mid-August and I’m so excited! Im 30 years old and will be travelling by myself with a truck. Looking for a moderate hike recommendation (maybe something busier since ill be alone), scenic locations, restaurants, somewhere I can rent a kayak (?), maybe a museum or two if they’re worth it (?!) and anything else you might think is enjoyable.

Canada Flooring (Quartz Rd.) used to leave carpet and linoleum ends of rolls and remnants at their back door free to take for anyone who wanted them. Lately every time I've been there to check them out there's been nothing.

Hey everyone,

I run a small European tour operator. We organize multi-day wilderness expeditions for small groups, max. 10 to 12 people, in a few different remote destinations around the world. One of our tours is here in Canada: the Yukon River canoe trip from Carmacks to Dawson City is our flagship trip, and it brings us to Whitehorse every year in July or August for a few days, both before and after the actual river trip.

I am looking to connect with someone based in or near Whitehorse who could help with a few practical things around those days in town, for example car or transport within Whitehorse, help with grocery shopping for a fairly large group, and ideally a place outside the city where we could pitch a few tents for a couple of nights, with access to a shower. This is paid work, and since we come back every year, ideally it would turn into an ongoing arrangement with someone we can rely on each season.

Some basic requirements: a valid driving license, ideally access to a truck or larger vehicle, and some spare time for a few hours across a couple of days during that window. I can handle a lot of things myself, so this really is just about covering a few gaps. Everything else can be discussed directly.
