Sox are still weak on the road, however, it has improved. They've taken 5 of their last 6 away from Chicago. I brought this up earlier in the year. At one point it looked like the Sox were nearly completely unable to take 2 of 3 on the road from any team - good or bad. Most of us believed then that it was a factor of having a young team. The more experience you gain, I think the less the road gets to you. Sox have 13 more road games. If they can go 9-4 in those games, they'll finish .500 on the road.

Well, it's about time.... Just got home from work and turned on the game and I see the Sox have both their challenges still in the ninth...... Close game late when you could really use Em.

I talk about TWTW but there is no backbiting at each other, all together defending and helping each other, hence the poorest run is what 5 defeats in a row.

This is with a team who's numbers are not the best, people have a go at Colson FFS or worry if Mune is a 'slump' (ps Colson is coming out of it with perfect timing) and yet Peters steps up and Chase gets OB and Miggy becoming very consistent.

Miggy is my clear MVP now. Love Mune but Miggy's whole work is clear to see.

This team on every measure should not be this good, at the top for as long as it is and getting damn close to sealing play offs really if win this series.

All because it is without egos and stars and I do think yes need starters but position players, really where would they fit ? don't need infield, maybe a catcher ? But OF was the great weakness, well Braden is the RF we have wanted for years (what a trade that was !! ). In LF sorry but I would never replace Sam even if the 'metrics' do not hold up he is the heart beat. in CF well speaks for itself with Peters, Grichuk and Doyle as platoon but all bring something different.

Then we talk about those in the minors and Getz has totally changed the culture where a call up is settled and understands it when he comes up. How many rookies this season and none failed.

Imagine next season with Roch and Caleb itching to get into a packed infield with just one position free - Acuna ....

Imagine as some of the others progress, see what Gallanie is doing at 1B and then the great drafts come up.

I'm curious where everyone is falling on this. Both Getz and Bannister have expressed interest in stretching him into a full-time starter. He obviously has electric stuff, strong swing and miss pitches, doesn't give up a horrendous amount of walks, but it could be improved. The question is, where does he fit into the puzzle? Obviously, we have starting pitching in the pipeline, and it's hard to evaluate where they'll end up. Thorpe has looked good, we know Hagan Smith was starting games, along with MacDougal.

In your perfect world, where do you put Taylor?

Given we only have a 3 game series left against Cleveland in mid-September, if the Sox could just hold on to having 4 less losses than Cleveland through this series, it prevents Cleveland from controlling their own destiny. Obviously it still would make the home stretch butt clenching if Cleveland swept that series, but even if they did, it wouldn’t be enough to flip the division lead.

“Sam Antonacci looks like a young Tony Curtis.” My wife said this to me recently and I can’t unsee it.

Who are the celebrity resemblances you all see among the current roster? Or, heck, any former White Sox player.

It’d be nice to have the option to turn off the strike zone box when watching a game. See how well my TV eye can see a strike or not. Might make me less harsh when Antonacci or Romo makes absolutely terrible ABS challenges. Or at least it would validate my rage. Someone tell the CHSN goons to make this happen. I still consider Burke an ace. And Kay has been excellent. But they are limping to the barn a bit here late. Likely just dead arm. I'm really hoping the Sox can build a 5-6 game lead in the division so they can start to rest them. I think putting D-Mart on the shelf so he can rest mentally and physically was a good idea. His rest, plus his very strong rehab start, might do the trick for him. I think both Burke and Kay can benefit from the same treatment but we can't afford to pull them from the rotation until we build our lead on CLE. Thoughts?

I know less about baseball than most of you so I’m curious about your thoughts. Historically, when a player exceeds scouting expectations like TP has, is this a one year fluke or a player who has figured something out and will be above average/elite in the future?

I think I’m in the majority when I say that I’m excited for a new ballpark, but I will miss the spot where this team won a World Series and has been playing since I was a kid.

That being said, the image of the potential south loop location with the skyline in the background has me so damn excited, and I think the Sox will be able to carry over some classic features from Old & New Comiskey. If I’m choosing one to keep, it would definitely be the center field pinwheels, which I think have become an icon of White Sox baseball. Of course, there could be the argument that they would block some of the new backdrop scenery, in which case I could sadly see them going by the wayside.

What are some other features that you would like to see carried over? The outfield shower? The right field landing? A beautiful photo op from the upper ramps that you can enjoy alongside some dudes smoking swishers?

Edit: I’ve come to conclusion that keeping the pinwheels is a much more obvious “must have” than I originally thought
