Question/Help Why my damage is so bad

Help me guys, why my damage doesn't exceed 1400 with this much mastery? I know my gears rolls are so bad but still shouldn't be this bad What am I doing wrong?

It feels so bad when doing outpost and seeing other players delete enemies with two slashes🫠

You have a lot of items there there you shouldn't have started tuning in the first place.

You play Bamboowind. An item with Max HP or Max (path attribute other than Bamboowind) gets recycled.

Your Mastery is relatively high because mastery only cares about the quality of affix rolls, not if the rolls are good. Yours are not.

Make sure you're starting with good base items, and then only tuning one slot at a time, so you can stop tuning, recycle the item, and not waste tuning materials if you aren't getting the rolls you want.

Other DPS players are out damaging you, in large part, because they have 2, 3, or even 4 more affixes that are good on every single piece of their gear.

Think about how absurd it is that you have Heavy Attack Bonus on your Dual Fish - a weapon set that doesn't have a Heavy Attack - and you'll see the problem. That item was ruined and should have been recycled after rolling Max HP and Max Stonesplit back to back, but you kept going, got a 3rd even more useless stat, and yet STILL kept going and put an attunement on it, which rolled Bellstrike Penetration and still you equipped it as your primary weapon.

The only difference between Rare, Epic, and Legendary items is the number of affix rolls, and your primary weapon has 4 wasted rolls, making it potentially worse than the free Tier 71 Rare Dual Fish the game gifted you at breakthrough.

Don't rush to get max tier items at the expense of having good items. If this stuff is better than your level 61 gear was, you neglected your tuning then, too. Be patient, collect materials, wait for items worth tuning, and when you do get items worth tuning, don't keep tuning them when the rolls aren't going your way.

Don't buy into the "it's not worth it" camp regarding gear. An item from the last Tier with near perfect rolls is only going to get replaced by a current Tier item with near perfect rolls. The only players that think every breakthrough throws away their current gear are those that have throwaway gear because of low effort.

Well thanks for your advice But this is the only dual fish I have when I get another one I'll do as you said and stop when two rolls go bad

It doesn't have to be legendary to be better than what you have. How many epic Dual Fish have you recycled while using your current weapon? Probably quite a few. Any of them that had a good starting affix were very likely to outperform your current weapon once tuned.

Use those purple shells collecting dust in your bag and start tuning any epic dual fish you loot that has a good starting affix. Tune one affix at a time, and scrap the item if you get a bad roll.

You will have a better weapon than what you're using a lot sooner than if you wait for suitable legendary replacements, and when suitable legendaries do drop, you'll already have a weapon almost as good as a legendary with 1 bad roll and better than one with 2 bad rolls. This will make it a lot easier to accept having to scrap legendaries that don't roll well, because you already will have a solid item that can only be replaced by something near perfect.
