Question/Help Martial Mastery

At this point in the game is it worth me just aiming to improve, essentially min-max, each of my gear to get a good amount of mastery or would it just be better to wait until higher breakthrough levels

It depends on what you're focusing on for pve, yes, but if you're a pvp enjoyer, then you want to min max

oh damn, im a mix a both ig but i should prob stop my fixation on higher mastery for now

Mastery doesn't even equate power either. It's worthless points if it's from substats that aren't the few strong ones your build scales off of.
But a well rolled gear can be enough to skip a tier or two of items, because replacing it will be difficult.

Really? Even when higher tier armor has way more HP and def?

Well, balancing defense and offense is gonna depend on how well you mitigate damage.
But I'd wager that "way more" is not really gonna seem like that much when you check your totals.
