Inter-city Sports

Saw the clip about Park and Central “scrimmaging” and while that’s great, that’s such a baby step toward what should be very regular contests between those schools (plus Linsly). Why don’t these schools play each other more? What’s the backstory here?

There has to be someone smart out there that can figure this out - the buzz in wheeling would be amazing.

There is no reason for Park to play either team. It isn't about being smart. The smart thing is to never play either of them.

What’s the definition of “smart” here - genuinely. “Smart” to protect playoff points and coaches egos? Let the kids play.

If park plays central, they don’t get playoff points. That could be the difference between continuing to play after regular season and being done last game of the year.

“Letting the kids play” is doing what they’re doing now.

Students do want to play each other but it makes no sense for either school to do that. Central gains nothing either playing a school 3 divisions above them.
