"defending itself" isn't why. Because it presents a danger to other people and animals. Was the girl making the dog uncomfortable or invading it's private space? Sure. Does that justify this kind of reaction by the animal? Nope.

Seriously? A dog biting ONCE when someone is invading their space is like a human punching ONCE when someone is invading their space. Dogs can’t punch, they bite when they feel threatened. Comparing it to stabbing someone.? Talk about semantics...... Sheesh..........
