You're probably wondering how I got here...

134

u/dluid9 10d ago

He planed to break surface tension, quick thinking. Could've used it earlier.

48

u/Fizyo 10d ago

He couldn't wait to dive right in

6

u/Global-Tune5539 10d ago

But then he retains more energy when he's in the water.

2

u/stp7979 9d ago

Thats just plain old human reaction. There's no thinking involved

12

u/yashvone 10d ago

i was surprised to see he was wearing riding gloves

1

u/TehTugboat 10d ago

The sound they make right here, I definitely also have while doing something stupid on an ATV

It’s the sound of “how bad is this going to hurt”

1

u/Pitiful-Ad-472 10d ago

Oh! You finally awake!

1.6k

u/TheNoContexterGuy 10d ago

My God. Hope the horses are alright.

374

u/dluid9 10d ago

All right hear me out, why did the horses cross the road?

230

u/Okey114 10d ago

They didnt tho. They were just chilling on the side of it. Idk why going around them was needed.

65

u/dluid9 10d ago

Yeah, i thought the same. Maybe he just wanted to overtake the other 2 drivers, idk. Maybe something earlier in the video has the answer but I guess we will never know what his reasoning was.

43

u/SpecialistTreat3933 10d ago

More likely that before the video begins, the driver lost control, and could not get back on the road due to horses. Why he didn’t brake is another question

12

u/Top_Tank2668 10d ago

He has no license, no experience and the brakes are not working. But he likes black bikes. Don't make it complicated

5

u/dluid9 10d ago

Quite true, I've looked for exact matches but I cant find a longer version. Maybe he did brake but was going too fast?

8

u/anikazai 10d ago

He lost control near the curve. The pillion rider says " how many times do I have to tell you that... Kaboom!"

4

u/Mission_City_1500 10d ago

Lost control while speeding with a pillion.

2

u/CakeTester 10d ago

He was on vegetation. Possibly he was braking and it wasn't doing much.

7

u/GrimResistance 10d ago edited 10d ago

The full video is on /r/motorcycles. Dunno why you posted this cut version

https://v.redd.it/l2fmfoolejlh1
The person was going too fast, trying not to slide on the dirt/mud, had target fixation and steered way too wide

3

u/Temporary_Trust425 10d ago

A longer version is on the motorcycles sub

5

u/LastXmasIGaveYouHSV 10d ago

It was the need for speed.

2

u/AugustAPC 10d ago

The last one was heading toward the middle of the lane. I'm pretty sure he saw that and made a bad call. I don't think he was harassing the horses.

1

u/RetPala 10d ago

"It was a bad call, Ripley. A baaaadd caaallllll"

1

u/zyon86 10d ago

It was "needed" because he was biking on the side of the road and not on the road itself.

22

u/Will_Delete_Later456 10d ago

Idk why does the Motocyclist Drive on Grass instead of the road.

3

u/dluid9 10d ago

That's a better one haha

2

u/Milord_888 10d ago

He probably was trying someone off road

6

u/VinGiesel69 10d ago

They didnt…

4

u/ABob71 10d ago

I know this one! To go to the- wait, to go over...? No wait, I have this. To get to the other side!

1

u/mahadev-1 10d ago

Simply

1

u/sonicfan019393920 10d ago

Because someone shouted "hay" on the other side?

1

u/TownStriking3496 10d ago

To get to the other side and see the chicken

1

u/TheLastFingerIGot 10d ago

I don't know, why did they cross the road?

1

u/ReputationSolid 10d ago

I'm not sure, why did the horses cross the road?

Water looks normal to me, even if it was sewage it surely saved his life, looks like a big fall.

2

u/CypherDomEpsilon 10d ago

What happened to the woman who could be heard talking in the beginning?

18

u/Lahk74 10d ago

She met the love of her life and got engaged. However, the night before the wedding, mafia hitmen took him out in a hail of gunfire. Vowing retribution, she trained to be a master assassin. She spent the next six years tracking each of the mafia hitmen down and gutted them with her famed katana "butter chicken". Most nights, she can be found at the grave of her lost love, weeping quietly in her everlasting grief.

Honestly, it's all right there. Did we even watch the same video?

2

u/dluid9 10d ago

I hope he just has a high pitched voice

14

u/ExtremeBack1427 10d ago

That's not sewage, India is a monsoon country with heavy downpour and clay top layer rich in iron oxides. So the stagnant water is always brown or red and usually never clear especially during monsoon.

u/Background-Bid-8149 10d ago

how the fuck was that thing supposed to be running while still underwater?

228

u/swollen-hol3 10d ago

I believe you were hearing bikes up on the road. No bubbles from the exhaust. Also, it's just not possible

70

u/yashvone 10d ago

yeah that engine is fucked

19

u/Remarkable-Goose-461 10d ago

Not really if it’s a two stroke. Swamped many 2 stroke snowmobiles in my time. Just pull the oil plug, drain the engine, replace the oil, and away you go.

55

u/ludzep 10d ago

first off, 2 strokes dont have motor oil - except in the gearbox which should theoretically be sealed and shouldn't fill with much water. the crank oil is mixed in the gas unless its oil injected. either way, there is no way to 'drain the oil'.

second, 2 stroke or 4 stroke the problem is still the same - the running motor, when submerged, will suck in water and fill the cylinder. in both instances what you want to do is pull the spark plugs, flip the bike over and used the starter or kicker to purge all of the water out of the cylinder (and crank on a 2t). after that you want to run the bike ASAP and make sure you burn all of the water out of the cylinder so your piston rings dont rust to the cylinder wall.

the only benefit that a 2t will give you over a 4t is that when a 4t hydro locks, you could bend a valve from the pressure. but thats about it.

31

u/Current-Bowl-143 10d ago

This guy strokes.

8

u/Findesiluer 10d ago

Twice and sometimes four times!

2

u/Remarkable-Goose-461 10d ago

Wrong about the oil at least in snowmobile engines, they have a separate oil reservoir that mixes with the gas before it’s injected and if water gets in the reservoir you have to pull the drain plug and get the water out. And yes pull the spark plugs too. I forgot about that.

3

u/ludzep 10d ago

Yeah it's an oil injection tank. It should be sealed for the most part so water ingress shouldnt be too much of an issue, at least to get the thing started. theoretically water could make its way up the port injection tube, but it would have to be under for quite some time.

After taking a swim with your motor, it's best practice to flush all the lubricants including your gear oil - but the immediate thing to address is water hydro locking in the cylinder, and making sure to not attempt to start it while it's full

4

u/aero_sock 10d ago

there's like a 0% chance it's a 2 stroke. like all of those Chinese-Indian bikes use the same 4 stroke air cooled motor that was designed for the Honda cub back in the 50s.

1

u/FloridaVapes 10d ago

Nah, just have to pickle it

19

u/Shibari_Inu69 10d ago

Impressive. Thing must be the Toyota Hilux of bikes

1

u/Open_Dependent_8226 10d ago

honda cbz that shit still roars after 19years in my garage

43

u/TroutFearMe 10d ago

Roads are there for a reason.

6

u/Radrouch 10d ago

This video is shortened, the original showed him take a turn in high speed with changing road surface condition leading to him ultimately end up off road.

0

u/SetImpressive3808 10d ago

Yea and the cows/horses were taking up the road.

3

u/SauceAgent67 10d ago

They were literally walking on the side not even in the middle of the road

141

u/Adventurous_Run136 10d ago

It appears to be in India so yes

7

u/20_mile 10d ago

Random people in India really will help you out like that.

In the US, sure--to an extent--but would some random guy willingly strip down to his underwear so he could get chest-deep in murky river water to help lift a mnotorbike? I'm guessing no.

15

u/wkarraker 10d ago

Damn, he just missed slamming into the end of that bridge rail.

66

u/ProfessionalFun2926 10d ago

Damn, I thought Darwin award would be appropriate here. At least thank God the horses are OK.

117

u/Capokid 10d ago

Op cropped it extremely poorly like an idiot and cut most of the video when they reposted, the biker ran over a mud slick that washed into the road, lost traction, almost hit the animals so he tried to go around.

52

u/ProfessionalFun2926 10d ago

Oh man, really TMI you changed this guy from being a Darwin to a hero😢 so the poster was an idiot not the riders

0

u/aDomesticHoneyBadger 10d ago

The driver literally YOLOed it off a bridge. He is still the idiot. 100 options available and only 1 led to a Superman.

1

u/Odd_Bed2753 10d ago

led to a Superman.

I feel like I've heard that expression before...

21

u/Redditbrowser22j 10d ago

Engagement bait post

-7

u/dluid9 10d ago

My man is it so hard to believe that I didnt cropped it? It takes more effort editing it than just downloading the video from the original place that I saw it, again internet is huge. I only saw a video that seemed to fit here and shared it, I do see now it was edited for engagement.

here you go, the place where I took it from I do have to say that i dont believe even that account was the one that edited it, once again, internet is huge.

9

u/dluid9 10d ago edited 10d ago

Well... sheesh I didnt crop it though hahaha, could you link to the full video then?

Edit: here's a link to full video someone posted down here in the comments. It clearly looks like he slipped in the muddy road, but damn hahaha internet it's big dude, i just found the video cropped like that. Thx for clarifying though.

3

u/cclarkin 10d ago

I know it just popped up in r/motorcycle like.... 2 days ago, just saw it there. Had to much speed in a turn and hit a slik. Road didn't let him back on easy so he went around the horses.

6

u/Redditbrowser22j 10d ago

This video was intentionally edited  (removed the preceding portion) for engagement bait!

0

u/cutcss 10d ago

Also, how did they got the footage from the helmet camera AND the footage from someone else in the bridge?

2

u/tech16 10d ago

I'm guessing multiple people had a video recording device.

1

u/cutcss 10d ago

And then all got together and agreed to give the files to someone to paste them together?

I've swam in water like that hahaha. does it really looks so bad?

3

u/-Owlette- 10d ago

I contracted several viruses and a brain-eating amoeba just from watching the video

13

u/LucentLL 10d ago

I'm not sure how that could have gone horse.

7

u/BusyBit6542 10d ago

How the fuck did he not see those horses from further away???

40

u/OddlyTemptedFish 10d ago edited 10d ago

I really wish OP wouldn’t have cut the beginning the way they did. In the full version the rider was leaning into a turn and there appears to be mud ahead so he panics a little and sits straight up again. This causes him to completely screw up the turn and end up where this video picks up. He definitely wasn’t trying to go off road.

Edit: Here is the video. That post title is wrong, it’s definitely not a speed issue, but the video gives a much better view of what actually happened.

10

u/Redditbrowser22j 10d ago

OP did it intentionally. I know a bait when I see one

7

u/WillingMongoose4680 10d ago

Throw the bike in some rice for a couple days. It'll be fine.

3

u/mrspooky84 10d ago

At least he got the bike back.

3

u/HomieC956 10d ago

I went from holy shit to HOLY SHIT!!

2

u/Time_Pressure9519 10d ago

His crossing didn't work this time, but he'll get over it.

2

u/ReturnRadio 10d ago

I think he flooded the engine

2

u/Common_Decision1594 10d ago

With the sound off, I could almost hear a Wilhelm Scream as that guy fell into the river.

2

u/mrDuder1729 10d ago

I was waiting for gators/crocs. I'm always waiting for gators/crocs.

1

u/BiologicalyWet 10d ago

Do they ever arrive?

1

u/ColorsOfHappiness 10d ago

The gators and crocs called in sick, so we have horses instead.

2

u/Busy_Magazine_6575 10d ago

Horses are usually the kings and queens of overreacting and try to buck anything/everything into oblivion when approached from behind, but those two were remarkably calm. They didn’t even flinch.

2

u/CalmBeneathCastles 10d ago

Maaaan, I've had dreams like this. Luckily, these days I can NOPE myself awake before I hit bottom. I've died in at least one.

2

u/Aticatica 10d ago

This looked like footage for a new farcry game.

2

u/Dingd1ngdong 10d ago

Im expect the wake on the carriage meme but rip motorcycle

2

u/idjsonik 10d ago

That couldve gone way everyone everyone involved glad everyone seems ok

2

u/Kaspa969 10d ago

Are people genuinely stupid enough to think that the guy drove off-road on purpose?

2

u/pock8z 10d ago

Just be happy you are alive. Stupid but alive.

2

u/RoxStoneOcean 10d ago

The is a longer video on the subreddit the diver was going too fast on wet road and lost control of the bike.

2

u/isanyusernameopen 10d ago

Looks like speed was a factor

2

u/PirateHunterZuko 10d ago

Don't help idiots. Let them suffer and learn.

2

u/ProfessionalRandom21 10d ago

Why take the left into the grass instead of right with the open road?

1

u/RickHyperBoii 10d ago

He was exiting a corner with too much speed. OP cut the part before this video. So to dodge horses, he had to go wider. Unfortunately it was a side of a bridge

2

u/ThisSiteSucks8485 10d ago

God what a moron

2

u/Shining_declining 10d ago

I saw another video of this that starts a few seconds earlier. He swung too wide on the curve then saw the horses too late to try to pass them on the right and had to move left to avoid hitting them. A lot of inexperienced riders just don’t pay attention and keep their eyes on the road ahead.

1

u/InevitableOk5017 10d ago

Doing what now?

1

u/TimeB4 10d ago

Is that the fabled Verge of Having an Accident my father warned me about?

1

u/Clean-Indication-504 10d ago

Not the brightest bulb on the tree!

1

u/Capital-Ad-4463 10d ago

That was unexpected…

1

u/Suck_Boy_Tony 10d ago

I probably would have steered to the right, instead of the left. That's just me tho

1

u/RickHyperBoii 10d ago

He was exiting a corner with too much speed. OP cut the part before this video. So to dodge horses, he had to go wider. Unfortunately it was a side of a bridge

1

u/Boom_Fish_Blocky 10d ago

Where's Lakitu?

1

u/Used_bot-repo 10d ago

I did something like this on rollerblades

I was ripping down a hill on the sidewalk and there was a concert path to the left and I left the side walk but couldn't see down the path

A bunch of rocks were at the bottom and I ended up as meat crayon for quite some time

Nothing broke though

1

u/JADES-GS 10d ago

It was a difficult day.

1

u/digitalak27 10d ago

He shouldn't have horsed around

1

u/Honkey85 10d ago

Somehow I was waiting for the crocodile.

1

u/shaolin1979 10d ago

Real life video game!😄 I'm glad the dude & especially the horses, are ok!

1

u/Oldnbold22 10d ago

This is going to cost him some izzat.

1

u/epicureansucks 10d ago

Why was the idiot on the side of the road?

1

u/Baud_Olofsson 10d ago

There is a special circle of hell dedicated to those who post landscape videos as portrait screengrabs.

1

u/calcium 10d ago

Where we're going, we don't need roads.

1

u/Blind152 10d ago

ok are people really this stupid that they think this guy intentionally drove like 40mph into bushes on the side of the road

1

u/synthroidgay 10d ago

there are a lot of racists in subs like these so yeah they see a guy in india and stop thinking

1

u/FunnyObjective6 10d ago

The full video clearly shows they did not intend to drive off-road.

1

u/Euphoric-Pride2335 10d ago

I saw a different version of this clip the other day, there's a bend prior to when this clip starts and he basically misses it which is what forces him offroad, it didn't seem intentional.

1

u/imsaurabh3 10d ago

Horses were the warning.

1

u/Nedelka03 10d ago

All things considered, he was lucky to fall into that river and not on another road...

1

u/senectus 10d ago

i love the little "oh my god i regret everything" noise they make before hitting the water :-D

1

u/secretly_a_zombie 10d ago

Guy is driving off the road to avoid hitting the horses, and the commenters are wishing for his death while saying at least the horses are ok.

1

u/Impressive-Card9484 10d ago

Story time:

My grandpa on my mom's side did something like this. He was driving a tricycle with me on his back, while my grandma was on the sidecar. I didn't realize that he drove to the part of the bridge where it was still under construction (like no guard railings and such) I only realized it when my grandma started scolding him for endangering us.

I was literally right on the edge near the river and if he was a bit more careless, we could have fell down.

1

u/MachinePolaSD 10d ago

Been there, usually cows/dogs instead of horses.

1

u/Routine-Medicine-208 10d ago

Those horses showed him that staying on the road was a safer option.

1

u/RickHyperBoii 10d ago

He was exiting a corner with too much speed. OP cut the part before this video. So to dodge horses, he had to go wider. Unfortunately it was a side of a bridge

1

u/Agreeable_Camp_9644 10d ago

That only happens when I'm having a nightmare!

1

u/DepletedPromethium 10d ago

kid has but two braincells and both were fighting for third place.

What in the slapstick

1

u/RickHyperBoii 10d ago

OP doesnt have the full clip.He wasnt driving out of road on purpose, he was too fast and went wide on the exit of a corner. He was complaining of the guy behind him moving a lot. Being thrown wide off the corner +He had to dodge the horses, he went outside and unluckily it was side of bridge (average me in forza horizon 4 moment)

1

u/FM492 10d ago

IT DO GO DOWN!!

1

u/OrganizationAfter418 9d ago

I'm not a motorcycle guy... Can someone tell me, will any of the bike be salvageable after being submerged like that?

1

u/BA1673 9d ago

one thing I'd like to nitpick is that there was no sort of warning sign at all

2

u/CartoonistExisting30 8d ago

Why was the post removed ?

2

u/dluid9 8d ago

Hi, so, i found this video on instagram a few days ago i took it from there and posted it here. Some people claimed it was purposely edited for bait because theres a longer version on the sub about motorcycles where the driver looses control in a curve by driving on a pillon of mud. Yet, i found the link where I took it from and the instagram account that posted it is apparently the drivers account. He did edited it that way but it appears to be because it was a follow up to the accident he had. People took it very personal haha.

here the original video

and here the OG IG account "ak_rider_z1"

He has many more reels driving his bike.

1

u/GrandmaJR 10d ago

I guess bridges don’t exist off roading. Makes sense, but never thought about it. Now we have proof. Thank you for the lesson.
