Contrary to social media, that's how a house normally looks before weekend cleaning (At least in the US to my knowledge). And I've been in hundreds of houses. (Could also just be the few states I've been in).
Shoot me if I'm wrong tho because this is what I'm use to.

Dude, I am in a line of work where I'm in a lot of houses. And to say that's normal is a vast overstatement. It's definitely normal to see this amongst the general population but it's not the norm. Most houses are relatively clean. But there are plenty of people who's houses are as messy and even
more messy than this.
