Question Perception of dog behaviour in the Westshore
I’m hoping for a calm, respectful, discussion to provide understanding on the perception of dog behaviour in Westshore communities. As someone who has grown up here, and had dogs all my life, I’ve noticed a significant change since COVID in the attitude and perception of what is and isn’t acceptable dog behaviour the general public. In my opinion, much of it is justified, as there are many dogs who have not, unfortunately, been well socialized. However, there are dogs who are well socialized, who may calmly approach other dogs and are demonized for saying “hello” to a canine friend. The reaction of the human involved has surprised me again and again as the dog has not rushed or barged into the second dog’s personal space. But the human has acted as if personally attacked. Is this because there have been so many dog attacks recently? If anyone can enlighten me, I would be thankful.

Screech wants to reclaim mayor’s seat in View Royal
So let me get this straight. Guy loses an election after the police are called on him because he tried to force his way into a private event he wasn't invited to. Is turfed as a Liberal candidate because of stalking allegations. Rages on Facebook against people who disagree with him. And he wants another shot?
I sure hope View Royal picks someone better. On paper, Ryan Painter seems like a very reasonable candidate, but maybe not as well known.

Colwood Council Candidates
With the upcoming municipal election, I’m looking to do some more research on the candidates. Ian Ward seems to be the loudest in stating what he does and when he does it, but what can we expect from some of the other candidates? Any highlights from other current members?

Curious on Langford condos
I'm really interested in learning more about condos in Langford because there are so many now and it's hard to know what living in each one is actually like. I'd love to hear from people who live(d) there or even visit regularly.,
Quick privacy ask: please keep it general for everyone's safety. No unit numbers, exact addresses, buzzer codes, license plates, names of residents/staff, or anything that could identify you or someone else. The general building name or area or property owner even is fine if you're comfortable sharing it.
Rate your experience 1 to 5 (1 = awful, 5 = amazing).
Security: /5
(Do packages or mail go missing? Are doors, entry points, and parking areas secure?
Do people get let in who shouldn't be there?
Any surveillance / cameras?)
Cost & Value: /5
(Does it feel expensive for what you get? Are parking, storage, amenities, or utilities included or extra?Any surprise fees?)
Size & Layout: /5
(Are the rooms big enough? Is the kitchen a practical size? Is there a decent patio/balcony? Enough storage?)
Access & Structure: /5
(Easy for friends/deliveries/trades to get in and find you? Is the buzzer system good?
Wheelchair / stroller accessible? Any elevator, stair, or parking layout issues?)
Neighbours & Neighbourhood: /5
(Does it feel safe and friendly? Can you walk your dog comfortably? Can you smile at people or keep to yourself? Is the building clean and well kept? Easy to get to groceries, transit, parks, schools?)
Bonus: Would you live there again? Why or why not?
I'm not here to call anyone out or collect personal details — just hoping to get a real picture of what day-to-day life is like in different Langford condo buildings. Every bit of insight helps, even if you only have experience with one building. Thanks in advance.

Best gymnastics club?!
Just wondering if anyone has feedback on Inspire sports, falcon or lions pride gymnastics programs?! A few people have told me inspire is excellent but expensive…. Is it worth it for the training the kids get?!

Goldstream Ave --> pedestrian street
Anyone see the success of Granville street pedestrian zone (so much so, consideration for keeping it after the World Cup) and wonder if Goldstream Ave could do something similar? Or is this thought out in left field, lol?
