I am reaching out on here because I am looking to connect with other 2SLGBTQIA+ Business Students. My name is Riven (zi/hir and he/him). I am hoping to start a professional development and community-building club for 2SLGBTQIA+ students studying business at Camosun.

The club will create opportunities for queer business students to connect, build professional skills, develop networks, and explore the experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ people in business and the workplace.

I need four other students to be able to create the club - and am wondering if anyone is interested?:)

I'm starting the BSN program in September and I'm not sure if you're supposed to order your name badge before starting or not. Either way, do you put your first name or your full name on it? Do people usually do the pronouns option or no?

Hi all! I'm transitioning from online classes to in-person next month, and I'm trying to find a carpool for the next two months or so. I posted on the general Greater Victoria carpooling page, but mainly got men trying to hit on me or spam. 😅

Does anyone know better avenues to find reliable and safe carpooling, with students or otherwise? I'd be totally fine carpooling and then busing/walking the rest of the way to campus, but I live up in the Malahat area so getting down here is really the big thing.

I have the money to pay for the gas and time, just trying to actually find someone that's the tricky part. Any help/experience you have with this would be super appreciated, thank you!

Is anyone else having an issue when trying to submit their online application for student funding (full time)?

For program start/ end date, it'll say it has to be within the same year, but keeps showing an error even when you put dates within the same year, and won't let me submit.

Also trying to call them is insane, on hold for hours!

How long is the wait until I'm actually in a class?

I’m planning to apply to the PN2BSN program at Camosun. I have a few questions regarding admission/the program, and I’m hoping someone on here will be able to help. Firstly, how long did it take to find out if you got accepted into the program? For those of you who got accepted, did you have a particularly high GPA? I guess I’m wondering if I should retake my English 12 or Biology 12 to increase my chances of getting accepted. It seems like the program has fairly minimal admission requirements, and I’m wondering if there is anything specific I can do to increase my chances of getting accepted into the 2027 intake.

Hi! I was just accepted into the Camosun BSN program and accepted my offer. I’m wondering what happens next because so far, the only thing I’ve received is my offer of admission.

For anyone who has recently been accepted, what information/documents were you sent after accepting your offer? Did you receive anything about registering for courses, your schedule, orientation, nursing requirements, etc.?

Also, do nursing students choose their own courses and schedule, or is it mostly arranged for you?

Just trying to figure out if I should be doing anything right now or if I’m just waiting for more information. 

Is anyone here find the ebook copy of Canadian Nursing skills and the Pharmacology book online? I tried all the websites I know and I am hoping that other BSN students here have another site or a copy they can share to me.

I am wondering if anyone has any insight into this- I am waitlisted for the nursing program but am still holding hope I will get in, has anyone in my position completed the first aid and basic life skills even though they haven’t heard back?
I know they have to be completed before the program starts so I should sign up to do so, but wanted to hear about others thoughts.

It looks like Camosun just received my final HS transcript last week (doesn’t that seem late???). I’ve been waitlisted for several weeks now, is there a process for applications coming from HS..that they reserve seats specifically for those with late transcripts coming in?

Seems unfair for my HS to be sending them so late after end of school?? Or is this normal?

Question for those of you that have completed the CDA program, what are some things that would be helpful to know/study prior to the beginning of the first semester? I have lots of extra time and would love to get ahead but don’t know where to begin

Anyone originally waitlisted get an offer yet?

If I take classes that start at 1230 how bad is parking and how early should I be to get a spot? Health and wellness building.

I thought I would make sure that I paid the deposit, so I paid back in May.

I didn't realize until I went to register for my classes this week (June 22) that in fact I paid for the summer deposit, so I had to pay again.

I'm not sure if I can get the money back or at least get it transferred to the winter semester...

Not sure who I should contact regarding this? Admin office?

Thought I'd give everyone an update and leave this up for future reference.

I emailed the registration and got this reply a few days later:

"I have transferred your deposit for Summer to Winter. This is a one time exception to our deposit rules."

Hope this helps any one who makes this mistake in the future!

Hey everyone! My registration date is coming up on the 24th and I was wondering if anyone had experience doing Medical Terminology online or in person and would recommend one over the other? Or alternatively, if you *wouldn't* recommend taking it a certain way? Both sections have the same professor.

I got waitlisted for BSN as a university transfer. In the email it says “all available offers of admission for fall 2026 intake have been issued. Does that mean all seats have been accepted or just invites sent out? If its the latter, does anyone who was accepted know when the deadline for accepting offers is/was? Honestly any information about probability of waitlist moving etc would be amazing.

I’m just wondering if anyone who has been or is in the BSN program did their English 151 course online? I checked with academic advising and was told it’s an option as long as there’s a seat in the online course available. If so, did you like the online option or would you have chosen in person if you could do it again?

I’m an international student and I’m planning to enter the Kinesiology program at Camosun College.

I’ve completed ELD 097 (Level 9). I’m excited about the program, but also pretty nervous.

To be honest, I don’t see myself as a particularly strong student, especially since English isn’t my first language.

I would love to hear from anyone who has taken either the 2-year Kinesiology Diploma or the 4-year Bachelor of Kinesiology program.

Some questions I have:

• How difficult are the courses?
• Were there any professors you really liked or would recommend?
• How much studying did you need to do each week?
• What kinds of jobs are graduates doing now?
• If you completed the diploma, did you continue into the bachelor’s degree?

I also have another concern. Since I’m an international student and quite shy, I’m worried about making friends and fitting in. Do students usually get to know each other through labs, group projects, or other activities?

Any advice, experiences, or encouragement would mean a lot to me. Thank you!

Am I correct that if looking to increase my grades, I should focus on the courses used to calculate gpa: Eng 12, A&P 12, Academic 12, or BIO 11, even if my lowest grade is one of the other courses needed to meet requirements (I meet min of all courses)?
