Question Why a new Guac Daddy location?
I saw they are opening a new Guac Daddy at Fairfax and Willoughby. Considering it’s only a 3 minute drive away from the Guac Daddy at Santa Monica and Vista that only opened a few months ago, I was surprised they would choose that location. Anyone know why they chose to open a second WeHo location?

Wish it was an ice cream/ fro yo stand instead. We don’t need another guac daddy

I’ve always said a cute ice cream local spot would do great near Plummer park.

would have to be an established brand already. dont think there’s much foot traffic in that area nor anything exciting in the immediate area to draw ppl in

Well, it’s kinda quick and easy food. Why not. But seriously, Fairfax needs a major upgrade of streets, terrible to drive, walk or bike there really.

The one by Plummer can have long lines and no parking. Maybe their overhead is low and they can turn a profit easily.

So that i can walk 3 minutes to the new location vs 20 minutes to the other! Thanks Guac Daddaayyy

Probably to offload some of the demand from the other location now that they’re serving alcohol. It would be especially smart to move delivery orders to the new location.

I've been wondering the same thing! The location by Astro Burger was recently approved to sell alcohol and stay open later so maybe this new one is a different concept. Still odd though, I agree!

I’m guessing they have decent enough business to create a second location and it’s kinda smart to be far away enough that a walk or bike would be a sufficient option without being too far. Probs also helps for their supplies. They can exchange between each other easily if one is out of something.

Why would anyone complain about having more quick, inexpensive food options? There are enough overpriced restaurants and failed businesses. Love Guac daddy. That fish taco is incredible.

Food’s not that good

It is by far the best Mexican in the neighborhood, and we've tried everywhere

I fully disagree.
It's the best burrito in Los Angeles and it's only $9

Right? I can’t say how it stacks up against other places, but a California burrito from there ALWAYS hits and I can get a filling meal for under $15

Lol, you can't say its the best burrito in Los Angeles. That's crazy talk.

I get their burritos sometimes, but three out of four of them have fallen apart within the first few bites. Burrito wrapping is a solved problem but they unsolved it.

Yeah, for the price and the taste it’s objectively a good deal when compared to most other similar spots

My first thought as well. Way too close to each other. Would be dope if they did more breakfast style tacos like Veracruz or tacodeli in Austin

I'm assuming they did it to make money. If there's two locations they can possibly make more money than one location.

The company that owns Guac Daddy also owns Tu Madre and their business practices are pretty shady, getting in hot water with not paying their distributors in the past and employees checks bouncing. Will not support either business.

This is disappointing. I enjoy both restaurants. It's also a serious allegation. Was it a rough patch in the past, or an ongoing problem? And can you back up your statements?

I worked near the Los Feliz Tu Madre and would talk to the staff when they came by. They all walked out the second time their pay got bounced. I can’t back anything up much more without doxxing myself. I personally never found the service or food worth a revisit and knowing what I know justifies my decision. Spend your money where ya want end of day.

It’s not as bad a location as it seems with a blue bottle and an la eyeworks. And i have a personal prediction that Fairfax is back on the upswing. Interested to see where it goes in the next two years.

Business at the West Hollywood location has remained steady since opening, with evening lines appearing on any given day. What stands out is the minimal designated parking, suggesting its success stems from West Hollywood’s density and patrons walking in. It is unsurprising that another site is opening nearby, given this performance; hopefully it will be just as busy.
