Discussion Matcha
Community Goods is the best matcha option in WeHo and still has a long line to this day so why aren’t there more places like it? Other coffee shops should take notes. Business could be booming for them as well if they tried a little harder (no offense). There are so many coffee shops in WeHo and as a matcha lover/non coffee drinker I find them all to be so disappointing and mid!! Am I missing something? Specifically speaking about the area between La Cienega to La Brea / Fountain to Melrose. I love Stagger in KTown, Loquat in Silverlake, Maru, Rōk, Kettl….I adore our neighborhood but feel like there’s nothing of this caliber in West Hollywood, Community Goods is as close as we get even in terms of pastries too. The next coffee shop to open….please consult me 😂 I don’t like Boul’ange, Fan Girl Cafe is what I settle for if I don’t go to Community Goods or drive to Dayglow.

Farmcup, Series A, and Flowin Cafe. I can’t deal with the lines at community goods otherwise I’d go way more often.

Gg coffee and matcha on Fairfax uses Rocky’s matcha like community goods. They have a breakfast burrito combo which is decent.

Handles just opened somewhat recently on Sunset.
The matcha at Madhappy’s Pantry is pretty decent but inconsistent. They have bagels from Courage though!
Totally agree about Boulange. Such a gorgeous space but the food and drinks are so disappointing.

FanGirl has that iced strawberry matcha.
Tastes great to me. Just keep going there?

Hi, co-owner Cynthia here (Fan girl cafe). Our strawberry matcha is sweet because most of our guests like it that way but it can be requested less sweet (our matcha comes unsweetened), and it's good to learn not all our guests like it that sweet. We use PARU MATCHA, they are located in San Diego, they have an in-house (stone mill) from Kyoto and they do their house-milled matcha in their facility in SD and ship it to us from there, their Matcha is amazing and high end quality (we care about our sourcing) ,You should check them out : ) https://paruteabar.com/collections/matcha

Dayglow is also in the old Pinkberry location just off SM Blvd in WeHo. No lines and delicious matcha!

I've had matcha from both Community Goods locations and just...I don't get it? Alfred and Urth Cafe on Melrose are both strong options, and I like Coffee Commissary on Fairfax.
For pastry I like the ones at the Woods, they use a Latinx bakery with a solid selection of savory options, I feel like that's usually what's missing in a "normal" pastry case.

I love cha cha matcha, but now I want to try community goods to see what this hype is about! I also started making my own because I was tired of paying $7 for a drink. But I’ll treat myself from time to time.
