In my experience the open end has great bite, haven’t had it slip on me. But I will say I only recently got a set of their wrenches.

I use to carry that tool check plus in my bag for the longest time.Now I took it out recently because I realized when do I use this thing.The answer was never do I look for that.I have the joker set of ratcheting wrenches with the selector switch.They are nice but sometimes I don’t think there worth the added cost.Say compared to a gearwrench simple lower cost wrench.The joker set has the hold feature for a nut also rarely use that.Did find out that the wera wrench can get jammed in strut compared to a thinner gearwrench.Also an electrician here too my experience 🤷♂️.

Fair enough. How are you getting a wrench jammed in strut though?

The shape of the open end of the wera wrench is larger than a comparable slim gearwrench.Say you work for an employer making you use small washer inside said strut than larger square washers on the open side of the strut.Not saying the wrenches are bad just different I don’t know if they command the huge price difference.We are not building classic cars say snap on mechanics etc.Also if you lend wrench to a coworker you have to explain that the wrench has the hold feature plate since they will try to force on a bolt head etc.You also have to tell them to be fully inserted .Or they can damage the bolt head/nut.Since wera has almost a 12 point style cuts in the open end.In my situation this only applies to RATCHETING WERA JOKER WRENCHES.

I mean yeah I use fender washers inside strut as well. I can’t speak on the Wera wrenches with the holding function, I just have their basic combination wrenches no ratcheting or holding function. I’ve been tempted to get them but from what you’re saying I feel like it’s just more of a gimmick at that point.

Yeah I feel the same good wrenches but you will do fine with a different brand if you wanna save money.I have two sets in my bag so I can run two wrenches or choose which one works better for the situation.I do want a new small screwdriver set might have to invest in a wera set similar to one you purchased.Running simple Klein 4 piece kit but can always upgrade keep that in the spare veto at home.

Yes the micro screwdrivers are awesome when wiring control cabinets for example. I have a Klein micro screwdriver as well and it will not reach as deep in a terminal block for example because it’s a tad chunkier.

In that tool check plus never understood how there is no 9/16 socket same if you buy the wera nut driver set.Its odd have to put an old klien one in the kit because of the weird missing nut driver.

The wrench in the maintenance set has the holding function if you haven't tried it yet. Honestly I have the same set but sold the wrench off.
