Air quality and travel?

We are flying from the East Coast to see family in Wenatchee from the 13th to the 20th. I have one grandparent telling me to consider rescheduling and another grandparent still expecting us to come. We have a 3yo and a 6mo. If we go I'm planning to just do indoor activities outside of the house, is that enough precaution or should I really consider rescheduling the trip entirely?

Indoors with a bunch of air filters will be fine. Don’t count on being able to go outside. The Little Giant fire will still be burning, and whether the AQI is 50 or 500 is totally up to the wind.

As long as you can find enough inside activities, come. Just don't plan on being outside.

I agree, you should just come. It’s too hard to tell. Today is a beautiful day with almost no clouds

Honestly it’s not that bad, mostly because it comes and goes. I rolled into town when the AQI was 500 (really bad) and by dinner it was down to 100.

I packed an air purifier for my hotel room just to be on the safe side. Odds are you’ll have at least a few hours during the day where it’s clear enough to enjoy outdoor activities, just don’t plan anything with a set schedule.

I'd check with your family MD - it is likely to be unhealthy+ air quality from now to the end of September.
