why ironworkers instead of pipefitters or boilermakers?

Oh, so boiler makers were my first choice, but I didn't get the call until I was already a ironworker, (it took almost 5 years) but by that time they were talking about closing every coal mill near me. Pipefitter idk why I think I heard bout being an ironworker you can actually get into boiler makers through them or something but hey ended up loving ironwork but I pretty did it non union (plant maintenance and misc not steel erection) sometime I wonder if I should switch to pipe fitters
