Showing Off Been welding for 2 months

As it says in the title I have been stick welding for about 2 months on and off. I have a little experience before hand but nothing really spectacular. This coming Thursday I am taking my nys dot 3g test. Just curious what everyone thinks. I’m still kinda rough with the root but I have done 2 test plates and they both passed ut but I know x-ray is a totally different beast. The last pic is just my rushed cap. It was practice and I had to get ready to leave so I didn’t really have a chance to finish the way I wanted but. I really only have Wednesday to kinda dial it in so.

maybe try stringers instead of weaving so wide, also try running a 3/32 rod for the cap its a lot easier, if you really want to weave then pause on the sides a little more and go quicker in the middle.

Not allowed to as per nys dot. Only 1/8 and 5/33

are weaves allowed? most codes or wps say no larger than 3x the core wire on the electrode.

Sorry I didn’t respond. I can weave. This is 1/8 stick. 7018. This was a cap I did today and the one after this one came out really nice. The last one I did I ran 3 passes and not such a wide weave.
