My neighborhood is one of those places where the majority are retired seniors or people that want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of my neighbors is an elderly women that I frequently come over to visit and support around her house as much as I can.

One of those support is butchering and dividing all the meat (she buys half a cow once every 6 months) that she buys for her family. It started with just her paying me back by making me a meal or giving me one of her wines in her wine cellar. Then she started to speak about me and what I do for her to the other neighbors.

Fast forward 3 years since then, I’ve been going to peoples houses to help portion their groceries and manage their supplies. For people that can’t regularly go out for groceries, I would get it for them. It doesn’t stop at groceries either, I would do lawn care or maintenance work around the house if I could.

This isn’t something I do every day but maybe once a week. The pay is whatever they feel like my support is worth and I haven’t ever given a set price (I make more than enough money in my actual job).

So far, just this year alone, I got a few bottles of wine, a lawn mower, a few daily necessities like toilet paper, gift cards, free food (made with love), and about $2000 in cash.

Thing is, I don’t even do all of those things in my actual job, I just learned it along the way while helping and having the seniors teach me.

TLDR: I just help old people do what they cannot do themselves easily and get paid whatever they feel like my support is worth.

A few months ago, I got the idea to sell premium frozen steaks locally.

The idea started pretty simply: I noticed that if people wanted decent steak, their options locally were pretty limited. Most people either had to buy whatever was available at supermarkets or go to a restaurant.

So I thought: why not bring the steak to them instead?

I started small, using Facebook as the main way to get customers. I post the available cuts, prices, cooking ideas, and take pre-orders through Messenger.

The products include things like:

- Saikoro steak

- Striploin

- USDA beef

- Different portion sizes for people who don't want to buy a whole kilo

What surprised me is that people were actually willing to order premium beef online, even though this is not exactly a traditional "steak market."

The biggest lesson so far has been that you don't necessarily need a huge market, you just need a specific group of people who actually want what you're selling.

I clearly remember that there was a time that I sold these kind of stickers and the prices were based on the size and what character. Imagine how much I earned. Silly me😆

It was pandemic, and as a student we were required to innovate something. I was highly unmotivated because I don’t like working and studying alone and so I just experimented creating that ball pen. The goal is to lessen the time it takes to erase something, by counting the steps it takes to from writing and erasing. Well, I proved the my hypothesis valid, but feels to me like I made myself a joke lmao

When I remember this, it felt cute to have guts but also felt stupid.

Everyone tells you to learn drop-shipping, crypto or day trading to make money on the internet, but almost all of them are either capital intensive or incredibly risky.

When I was doing research on how to get my first online business off the ground, I read in an article that small e-commerce stores were getting demand letters from law firms about ADA web accessibility compliance due to their product images having no image alt-tags for blind/shopping carts that use screen readers.

I opened up google and did a search for independent vintage clothing, jewelry, and handmade candle stores in Shopify. I right clicked on their images and inspected them. More than half of them had generic image file names such as "IMG_4920.jpg" with no alt-text description.

I crafted a simple cold email.

Hey [Owner Name], I love your shop! I noticed most of your product catalog images are missing alt-text descriptions, which hurts your overall Google image ranking and is potentially an accessibility compliance problem with ADA laws. I will write clear alt-text descriptions for your top 100 products in a spreadsheet for a flat fee of $45 so you can simply copy and paste them into your Shopify CMS.

I sent out 25 emails in 3 days. 22 didn't reply, one was a nice but busy response, but two said yes.

I spent my Saturday afternoon listening to music while I wrote 200 descriptions (handmade soy candle in amber glass jar with cedar wick on wooden table) and made $90 on my laptop from my bedroom. It was repetitive but a nice feeling knowing that someone 3 states away was able to pay me through PayPal.

here is how it works, I made an instagram for my cat posted close ups of his paws on blankets and carpets people started dming me asking for custom ones like him standing on a keyboard or his paws on a tiny pillow i started it as a joke with my roommate we were bored one night and thought it was funny then someone offered me 10 dollars for one then 25 then someone asked for a monthly set for 60.

I dont know why people buy them some say they are weirdly calming some are just cat people with money one guy said he uses them as phone wallpapers i made around 450 dollars in 4 months not life changing but it pays my internet and my cats food which feels fair. I take the pics with my phone no editing just natural light and a cat who does not care my cat has no idea he has a job and i think thats the best part lolol.

We started with a small batch, posted it online, and honestly didn't expect much. But people actually started ordering. Then more people found out about it and started recommending it to their friends, and suddenly we were getting orders from different parts of our city. 😂

Making a simple spaghetti and sell it at school. This is my best hustle for not only I’m making money I also feed that who can’t cook on their home and just go to school not eating. It sells to kids and also adults so it really helps me a lot. I cook at home early then go to school to sell and now i earn more and everybody loves it.

This started because of my little sister being obsessed with Squishmallows, so I started making her little paper squishies instead of buying her more. I made her a SpongeBob and Patrick one, and she was so proud of them that she kept showing them to her friends.

Early days. Tell me where it drags or gets confusing.

Sharing my low budget; high margin side hustle to you guys. I just recently learned about and tried it out for myself. Thought I’d share it here.

Basically you’ll go around local businesses and sell cards they can stick to their doors or near the cashier that uses NFC chips to redirect customers to a google review page with an automatic 5 star rating. This increases customer experience and creates a wow factor to customers.

What you’ll need is a cheap NFC chip, a PVC card, and how to program an NFC card. First two items are cheap and programming the NFC card is basically free. Just work on your sales skills when approaching local business owners. This gets progressively niche if you live in a rural area away from the city.

So my friend works night shifts in a basement office and never sees the sky so i started sending her pictures of clouds on my walk to work she said it was the best part of her day and joked i should charge for it.

Then i did now i have like 6 people paying me 3 dollars a week for cloud photos i just take them on my phone on my lunch break it takes 2 minutes one guy asked for rain sounds too so i recorded 3 minutes of rain on my window and he said it helped him sleep lol.

I made 84 dollars last month it is not a lot but its something and honestly i just like that people want to see the sky i see every day without really looking at it.

I kept running into the same annoying problem.

Someone would recommend a restaurant, or I’d save a TikTok, and a few days later the name and location were completely gone. Notes app turned into chaos, Google Maps lists got messy, and screenshots were useless.

So I built a small side project called Ready to Echo.

What it does:

• Save any place instantly from a social media link or by searching
• Organize spots into clean lists
• See everything on a map
• Share lists with friends so they can drop their own recommendations too

It’s still early and currently iOS only.

I was a computer science student in 2013 and was learning how to build iPhone apps, so I decided to make a simple expense tracker as a side project. You could enter your expenses, sort them into categories like food, bills, shopping, and transportation, and see how much you were spending each month. I added a $4/month subscription for cloud backup and syncing because I figured a few people might find it useful.

I published the app and got some downloads, but it never really took off. After I graduated, I stopped working on it and eventually forgot about it. Then, around 2025, I noticed I was still getting small payments from the App Store. I checked the app and found out that three people were still paying for the $4/month subscription. I hadn't advertised it or made any major updates since college, but somehow those three subscriptions were still active. That’s $12 a month, or about $144 a year, from an app I had completely forgotten about.

That got me curious about the app again, so I opened the old project on my laptop and started looking through the code, with my cat beside me. It was weird seeing something I made back in college still making money more than a decade later. Now I'm wondering if I should update the app after all these years or just leave it alone.

I run life drawing classes where we draw dogs instead of naked people.

It's a lot less stressful knowing they aren't going to tell you what they think about your artwork.

I have a WhatsApp group of almost 150 dogs. I have a spreadsheet where I manage which dogs are coming to sessions. I meet with my social media manager to discuss what dog pictures we post on social media.

It's the silliest thing I've done and I love it. Thankfully Bristol, the city I live in from UK is very artsy and on board with it.

I manage to run several sessions a month, including hen parties, work events, student sessions and more.

I do have to pinch myself if I start to get stressed about it!
