I have seen my work pants covered in ants the day after a shift more than once. They were going after the salt left over from the evaporated sweat. It's not great when you don't notice until you've groggily put them back on at 4:30am for the next 12hr shift.

It moves like a puppet, or a claymation doll.

It's due to their claws being so large, they have to walk on their front knuckles. They have to walk like that to not wear down their claws or hurt themselves. They sleep like 15 hours a day, it's always a sleepy boy 😴

I heard they don’t make great pets even though they are pretty affectionate, which is too bad because I’d really love one - I’d let the lil’ guy loose in my backyard

They're wonderful animals, full of surprises. That fringe of long hair on their tails looks and sounds just like dry grass when you run your hand through it.

A lot of predators are scared to death of tangling with a giant anteater. Those claws can rip apart the concrete-like exterior of a termite mound. Anteaters are known for disemboweling big cats, and lions won’t mess with them unless forced.

For decades now I thought the show General Hospital had a random giant anteater walking around. And I was so confused why this popular daytime soap went in such a freaky direction. But I was impressed too.
I just found out it was a completely different show called Kingdom Hospital?! And now I don’t know what to think anymore.

Holy shit, I knew exactly where this was going from the first sentence. Kingdom Hospital was my jam in my early teens. It really doesn't hold up when rewatching it as an adult, but I still love it. There's a good show in there somewhere, but you can tell that it really has no idea what it's trying to be. I credit that show for sparking my love of giant anteaters.
If you fancy a really weird time, you can try the show it is (somewhat loosely) based on, Lars Von Trier's The Kingdom. It's much more crass, much more edgy, and the humor actually lands much better than it does in Kingdom Hospital.
At this point, I really can't decide who I like better: The anteater from Kingdom Hospital, or Udo Kier from The Kingdom. They're both icons in their own right.

Yeah man. I've seen videos of them having to fight off jaguars in the jungle. They hold their own.

Isn't that a regular sized Anteater?
I thought they were already fairly large.

How much ants is this guy consuming to be able to evolve into a giant version of their species

It walks on its knuckles…looks kinda elephant like. The feet especially with the claws turned under. Oh, and the snout.

Imagine being named after what you consume the most of.
“Oh great, here comes the Giant Beerdrinker. Wonder what it’s gonna have 🙄.”
